There are a lot of young players who can improve with experience, so it's possible the pieces are there for the unit to develop into something special in a few seasons. For now though, it can't carry the team to the playoffs (not with this year's schedule). Fitzpatrick is a decent fall back option for a team with an elite D and no QB, but that's not this team. So really, what's the point? Heinicke has proven himself to be a gamer, and it's not unheard of for a late-20s nobody to turn into an elite QB. Will that happen? Probably not, but he's exciting AF to watch.
