With only 2 preseason games to go, and Training Camp ending, I figure we all have an idea of what the final 53 will look like; what the strengths and weaknesses potentially could be; and what we hope to see. So with that, I offer the annual Predict the record thread. We have some brutal games and a weird last 5 weeks, that I think will see us dominate the NFC East heading into a deep playoff run. While I think Fitz will be much more magical than tragical, Heinicke serves as a perfect backup to learn and grow through the season.

Our first 5 opponents should set the stage for our Defense VERY nicely.
2020 Rank PTS, OLINE
(W)Chargers 18, 32
(W)NYG 31, 31
(L)Bills 3 , 10
(W)Falcons 16, 21
(W)Saints 5 , 8

Heading into a matchup with the Chiefs in Game 6 we could be 4-1, especially if the Chargers revamped OLine is not substantially improved from their dismal PFF ranking last year.

The next stretch includes a bye - Thank goodness
(L)Chiefs -- I want to see us win, but let's be realistic they rebuilt their line and Mahomes is Mahomes
(L)Packers -- ditto with Rodgers is Rodgers
(W)Broncos
Bye
(W)Bucs - a revenge game for the team and Fitzpatrick
(W)Panthers

Then comes the Home Stretch - this team will be hungry to prove they weren't a fluke:
(L) Seahawks - Until we beat RW consistently, I have to give them this
(W) Raiders
(W) Dallas
(W) Philly
(W) Dallas
(L) Philly
(W) NYG

Rivera's teams have normally been strong in December (I couldn't find a good splits database to back this up but here is a link to an article (https://247sports.com/nfl/carolina-panthers/Article/Ron-Rivera-Panthers-December-record-125440326/) while he was in Carolina (it is older)

I think we will only lose one of the last 5 division games, I chose Philly but it could be any one of them.

With that, I think we win the East again with a record of 12 - 5. I believe we will be competitive in every game, but the top ranked passers will give us fits, and our offense has to be able to put up at least 27 pts per game average. That was tough last year. This year I hope it is the bare minimum. Field Goals will be at a premium Hopkins/Cheeseman!!!

I like it CR, I think the 8-9 win window is under.. I'd be a little disappointed if this team isn't a 10 win team. The talent is there as is the coaching.

Rivera is 24-12 in his last 4 games of every season he has coached. He has gone:
4-0 twice
3-1 three times
2-2 three times (including last year with our qb issues)
1-3 once.

Out of the 4 coaches in the NFC East, Rivera is the most capable to lead his team in December. Judge is to temperamental, Siriannis is to flaky and unsure, and McCarthy has JJ breathing down his back.

8-9

miss playoffs by a game

pick in mid round

worst possible outcome

lucky to go .500 in division, which I think will be much improved

I'm going big and saying 11-6 repeat NFC East champs

I think Dallas, assuming health on the offense, will win 10 to 12 games. They have the most favorable schedule in the division, and their offense is explosive.
We will have to sweep them, and be focused throughout the season to repeat as NFCE champs. It definitely won't be easy, but I think we have the team that can, and I trust Rivera/JDR's defense to close out teams late in the games. We just can't spot teams 14 to 20 points due to incompetent 1st quarters like we consistently did last year.

I would accept 9-8, less than that would be disappointing. Anything in double digit wins is a bonus.
WFT need to go 4-1 in the first five games
The Chargers WK1 aren't playing Herbert or major star players in the PS so I think we have a good chance to get out to a fast start that the other teams in our division wont.

3-3 in the middle six up to Seattle, I think that the Offence will be up to speed and we have a chance to steel a couple.

flip a coin on the Raiders game.

3-2 in the final division games ( split with Dallas and NY)

which would give them a 11-6/10-7 record, quite respectable.

10-7 but with a playoff win. Our non-common opponents schedule is fairly brutal (Bills, Packers, Seahawks) and that is probably worth one more loss and keeps us from separating from the herd in the NFC East. But I think it will be a battle tested 10-7 that gets us into the playoffs, and we win a game there, and make the divisional round game a very close one.

We close the 2021 season feeling very good about our future prospects, and become a destination of choice for QBs looking to move onto a better situation.

I think we can beat one or two of those 3 teams mentioned but I agree 10 wins seems like the most realistic.

Dallas will be better if Dak is 100%
Eagles are an toss up
Giants look like a problem ready to happen

We should be favored to win the east
