It’s a cluster effer…I think restarting covid procedures from last year immediately…boosters in arms.

Maybe implement another bye week to reset

I'm also not positive about the idea of the league letting asymptomatic guys play, sends the wrong message imo. But this outbreak seems as bad as any that happened last year.

They need to go to last year's protocols immediately, I'd go a step further and start looking at bubble options for the playoffs.

Mike Jones thinks one reason for the spread is that vaxxed players are only tested once every 2 weeks vs every day. If they were tested everyday, youd catch cases a lot quicker and they wouldnt spread like wildfire to whole units.

The seahawks test their vaxxed players every few days. That is an owner and organization that gets it. Competent decision making. Attention to detail with one goal - win games.

Apparently the NFLPA wanted every day testing for vaxxed or unvaxxed.

Its the new normal, do the best you can under the circumstances.

Yep, I remember when that story first broke. How dumb, to not test more often. It's more than likely the vaccinated players spreading this so rampantly.

This article is from before the season began:

https://nflpa.com/posts/daily-covid-testing-is-the-key-to-a-full-nfl-season

"Scenario 1: For up to six days, the virus spreads throughout the facility with no one knowing. When it gets to the following Monday, the team resumes testing and 10+ players and staff test positive. Those 10+ people now are in doubt for the following game. Some may be able to get cleared before, but some won’t; and that team will be missing key players"

This could easily be done if they had a vaccine mandate in the league. And before anyone bitches about this, they have mandated drug testing, so yes, this could have easily happened.

I hope we have a Blaine Gabbert vs. Brian Hoyer Super Bowl. I'm sure anti-vaxxer idiots are going to be screaming for players to be vaccinated.

I would have been all for that, let the unvaccinated sit out the year. Fuck em. Of course the players union would have gone apeshit over that proposal.

I think the optics would be bad. I don’t know how I feel about just letting them play

A buddy of mine is a Baltimore County police officer. He told me the union signed off on that for police officers. If they are positive and asymptomatic they are on duty. They aren't even make considerations for retirement communities etc. I get that police officers have far more essential jobs than footballers though.

Yeah…the unions have been those push back groups.

I mean thats pretty bold, I feel like you should be at home sick.

They should have been testing everyone every 2 days. It was stupid to set up a different testing regime for Vax vs unvax. Or just let them fricking play and do this shit on individuals own time. These guys aren't at risk for s and it's stupid to keep anyone who is asymptomatic (regardless of vax status) out of games.

My fantasy football brain says yes but I think once you open this can you can’t go back. I think optics would be bad.

What optics are worse, letting asymptomatic guys play or seeing games where teams barely have enough guys to suit up and the quality of the games suffering greatly? We're going to have scab game quality before we know it.
