Looking for actual discussions about the 2nd amendment:

Just my two cents second amendment and gun violence are two different issues.

When I look at gun violence I see data and the data overwhelming supports that certain types of gun control is highly effective and there are reasons for it. What we do in this country in terms of the type of gun laws we have is not supported by the data. The flip side of that is the second amendment is not a scientific issue. It is a moral one do you believe in the right to own a gun or not.

This is where I stand. I feel like any American 21 years of age or older that has not previously been convicted of a gun crime should legally be allowed to own any gun they want. You could give me a bazooka launcher and it would never harm anyone.

8 of the top 10 States with the worst homicide rates are Republican governors.

Why are Republican governors supporting murder? Whats their real motivation?

Am I doing the Tucker Carlson thing right?

LOL

That's you, laws are to deal with 100% of the population. Should people be allowed to have guns , IMO No no need for them but I know that's not reasonable. SO you regulate it like a car. Registrations , age limits , Insurance AND TAX THE SHIT OUT OF AMMO.

West was arrested on Wednesday and is currently in police custody on a $100,000 bond. An initial police report described the shooting as a “justifiable homicide.”

A GoFundMe was set up to help Shin’s family with expenses, such as funeral costs and legal fees. The crowdfunding effort has raised more than $85,000 as of this writing. "Any excess funds will be received by his surviving 14-year-old daughter," the GoFundMe post noted.

Any car accident can turn into a wild west shoot out .. since everyone has a gun.

When is Texas/Abbott/Cruz going to do something about the rampant "justified homicides" in their State?

Texas road rage and guns = death

These are people legally allowed to carry guns around with them ... maybe guns for everyone everywhere isnt a good idea.

This just sucks man. Imagine coming back to the US trying to heal yourself from the PTSD of doing 4 tours overseas, and the war comes to you instead.

Hope everyone who was there will be able to get the help they need. And RIP to those who died.

If I felt like there was something positive to be gained or some common middle ground we could all reach from this experience, I'd say something. But we all know passing any sort of law that makes it harder for nutjobs to have access to guns is really some sort of law against mainstream conservatism in disguise, so we can't do anything.
