Jury's work tho. I'm pretty confident a vast majority of jury's really try their best to make the right decision based on the evidence presented. Before the trial and after the trial, yeah, that needs some work.

Around 1 a.m. on June 14, 2020, 21-year-old Marc Wilson, who is Black, and his 21-year-old girlfriend, Emma Rigdon, who is white, left a Taco Bell in Statesboro, Georgia. At a stoplight, they pulled up next to a pickup truck. Wilson’s lawyers say that at least one of the white teenagers inside the truck shouted the n-word and “your lives don’t matter.”
Wilson later told police that the teenagers in the pickup truck swerved in front of him, tried to knock his sedan off the highway, and threw an object that impacted the car with a loud sound that made him think they might be shooting at him. Wilson pulled out a gun and fired out his window at the truck. The bullet struck and killed 17-year-old Haley Hutcheson, who was sitting in the pickup’s backseat.
Prosecutors charged him with felony murder and aggravated assault, which carry a maximum sentence of life in prison and the possibility of the death penalty. Wilson claimed self-defense.
“Me and my girlfriend were very scared that night,” Wilson told police later that week, according to a detective’s testimony. “Everything going on in this country, I’m not going to let me and my girl get run off the road.”
Wilson was denied bail because Ogeechee Judicial Circuit Court Judge Michael Muldrew concluded that he “poses a significant threat” to the community.

This is one to watch. I dont think it is apples to apples w rittenhouse. presumably you can flee or just stop in your car vs being chased on foot.

All comes down to video. If no video then we have to judge each persons credibility and that brings subconscious and conscious bias.
This is a tough one…road rage, racial shit…I think the problem is having a vehicle gives you a reasonable barrier to remove yourself from a situation. Unless he was in a remote, single road where he was impeded to the movement from escape. Also did he call the police at anytime? I got questions

All this talk about lethal self defense reminded me to look up the outcome of that florida case where a white guy was arguing with a black lady about parking, black boyfriend comes out and pushes the white guy down. white guy pulls gun and kills black guy.
white guy claimed self defense.
white guy got 20 years.

Explain why you are pointing out black men who have been accused of heinous crimes ? Timing seems a tad bit peculiar.
Of all the heinous domestic terrorism crimes in recent history you chose two blacks? Not saying cus ur racist, but to fit ur narrative that this isn’t a right wing white nationalist problem mainly - cus it is, regardless of the examples you immediately run to.

If you would need a strong prosecution and a prosecution favoring judge to get a conviction ... perhaps that case isnt strong enough to satisfy the high burden in criminal cases.
This was self defense. I hate the notion someone can put themselves in a dangerous situation then claim that very danger they sought made them fear for their life but here, it still just barely fell to the side of self defense.

I wish I had seen this video earlier. Rittenhouse did try and flee from the crazy shirtless guy before shooting him. Rittenhouse circled back very soon after shooting shirtless guy and stood next to him and called 911. Then a crowd came and he (smartly) fled.

re the media is the enemy ... we have vast amounts of information at our finger tips. We all have sites we flock to for confirmation bias (redstate or fox for reds; huff root for blue). It is up to each one of us to make our decisions about what sources to believe, give weight to ... personally I like to consume it all. Only direct quotes or videos get a presumption of truth.

I had a hard time forming an opinion on the Rittenhouse case other than the "prosecutor sucks" angle. But I'm comfortable with the acquittal - after seeing enough stories about it I believe the argument that it rose to self defense. The gun in the one survivor's hand really made a difference too.
With all that being said - I still think a 17 year old kid bringing a rifle to a riot makes him a dumbass. But being a dumbass doesn't make him a criminal (not yet anyways).
