It was mentioned some but unless we want to be in the business of major standoffs until someone blinks, which has no real upside, sending troops into Ukraine is not in our strategic best interests. Efforts need to be clandestine and aimed at politically and economically destabilizing China and Russia. Some of the goofy left field Info Wars esque bullshit some of you guys like to read is intentionally promulgated online by Russian and Chinese bots with the intention of sowing discord so that shit like the capital insurrection happens on a more frequent and larger scale. We need to be doing that kind of stuff to them with greater effectiveness.

Economic destabilization is just as important. As oil prices have risen again, Russia benefits greatly. Anything we can do to keep oil prices down kills them. Flood the market, reduce demand through greener technology, it all undermines Russia’s economy, which is 50% oil.

I agree with every word of this. Especially the part in bold.

But until we became fully energy independent (which we have all of the ability in the world to do) and can bring back the manufacturing of basic goods and necessities this will be hard to do, especially as it relates to China. Due to cheap manufacturing, they have us by the short hairs.
