Regardless of Douche Snyder and the pr stunt timing I am happy for ST and his family. Still hard to believe how much of an impact he made in such a short time. Dude was on a collision course with opposing players and the HOF. My imagination probably doesn’t do justice to what would have been.
Played for my alma mater, and us. Probably my favorite player of all time. What an absolute physical specimen and assassin he was. So smart on the field. Good dude. It was a pleasure to watch that man play football.
Absolutely! We just ordered some new #21 Salute to Service jerseys last week to sport at the Broncos game on Halloween!
It was exciting to see him play, and I am glad I had the opportunity to do so.
He was a machine. He had overcome so much, and was on a new collision course with being a family man, and just a remade human being. For me, that just put another layer on the tragedy of that day.
I'll not forget when my wife told me he was shot in the leg. I immediately got goose bumps, and thought he must have got himself into trouble some how. I didn't learn until later that he had passed, and that it had nothing to do with him getting "into trouble". Couldn't believe it, I mean he was just shot in the leg (was what I was thinking at the time).
Sucks. Would have loved to see him continue to grow as a player, a man, a father.
But yeah, he deserves (and Redskins fans deserve) more than three days notice.
Total BS.
