Chief X_Phackter 03-16-2021, 10:32 AM I don't hate it, but it's "meh" for me. They had to add somebody at the position, but I can't get too excited about him. No exciting options out there though, so it is what it is... At least they didn't give up anything to address the position.
Better shore up that defense now though, because they will be tasked with defending short fields all year. This guy throws interceptions at a pretty high clip.

Career INT % of 3.3, not ideal but not awful either
Same % as Favre funny enough

Yeah, but he's no Favre.
About the same % as Jameis Winston too..
skinsfaninok 03-16-2021, 10:37 AM How he fits
Fitzpatrick showed last season that he’s still a gunslinger and is willing to do whatever it takes to win the game (like in Week 16 against the Raiders). He’s hard-working, amenable to what the coaching staff asks and a pro. One can quickly look at the situation in Miami last season when, even though he was hurt by being pulled as the starter, he remained committed to helping rookie Tua Tagovailoa take the reins. When Miami turned back to Fitzpatrick after Tagovailoa was injured, he stepped up. Washington needs someone with that selflessness and ability to coach up its younger quarterbacks. If Washington adds a few more playmakers around Fitzpatrick, fans could see the ball flying all over the field next season.

SunnySide 03-16-2021, 11:09 AM Outside of watching highlights of Fitz throwing bombs under pressure and the games against the Skins .. I honestly dont know much about him.
We know he can escape pressure, buy time, throw down field or run for a 1st.
Will the OL hold up for him to make the long throws? The suspect OL benefited from the quick scheme ... so now we are asking Lucas to maintain his assignment for 3.5 seconds vs 2.5? ... okay
Can we make quick read and throws?
Can he control the clock if we are up 2 scores in the 2nd half?
if we get behind in the first half, will he press and throw 3 ints?
Does he see disguised coverages post snap and change his pre snap thinking?
With this defense, do we want a QB who can win and lose us the game ... or do we want a QB that will let the D determine the outcome?
Shootout QB + Limited weapons + Suspect LT + Good D = mismatched parts imo

Do you think we're limited if we have Terry, Golladay or Samuels, Gibson, and Logan Thomas?

I guess we gotta wait and see what happens. Hopefully we add more and retain Cam Sims. Right now we have the same weapons as last year.
Defensewins 03-16-2021, 11:34 AM We have three QB’s that can come in on a moments notice and play competently. Like this move. We have three professional QB’s. No Haskins like liability’s on the roster.

id bet $1,000 all 3 get a start next season.
calia 03-16-2021, 11:38 AM We also have Kelvin Harmon coming back. And I have a feeling he will play well for us. To be clear, we still need WR help, but the cupboard isn’t bare and the draft class is deep at WR.
I am more worried about CB (after losing Darby who played well), LB (which was weak and got weaker by losing KPL), and LT.
