What do you do when Mac Jones is there at 19 starring you in the face?!

Stick to your board. I suspect most teams will have him graded 2nd round or later due to arm strength issues, but you only need one team grading him higher. I would rather be patient. I'm drafting a QB 1st round I want Jones character and IQ, but also better arm strength, and I really like Jones. Heinecke is in essence a poor man's Jones anyway, checks boxes except size arm strength. REALLY limits you long term when QB has to have clean pocket and perfect mechanics to deliver long balls because of arm strength limitations.

In a draft deep at CB and LT, you could find a long-term CB1 or franchise LT and fill one of 5 high leverage positions for the long term. We now have gaping hole at CB. I generally favor building trenches first so would go LT with pick if a franchise PASS BLOCKING LT is sitting there.

A franchise pass blocking LT generally is gone by 10. That said, if one is there yes take him, or franchise level LB if JDR/RR thinks their guy is sitting there.

Looking ahead: Washington still wants to sign a receiver and two names need to be watched -- Curtis Samuel and Marvin Jones. Washington tried to trade for Samuel last season. Both offer speed. Also, Washington wants to be mindful of Terry McLaurin's next contract when signing another receiver. If it breaks the bank on a receiver now, it could make it harder to retain McLaurin in the future. It also will look at tight ends. Gerald Everett is available; he fits what they desire (vertical threat).

Sounds very logical.. I didn't realize we tried to trade for Samuel last year. If we sign Marvin Jones then we probably would need to find a replacement next year or 2 years later so I'm not fan of this part but wouldn't complain if we signed him.

Generally, yes. But it is a very deep draft at QB and LT. With 4-5 QBs possibly going before we pick, and plenty of quality LTs, we could get at 19 what we might not other years, a franchise LT. Do you take a good LB over a LT? I would say no, all else being equal build trenches first, but I think we have two holes now at LB and RR really wants thumper in middle.

What’s that?

Everett and one of these two...or both would big an ideal haul to improve playmaking ability on offense.

You give Fitz the following:

Terry
AG24
J.D M
Samuel
Thomas
Everett

That's a damn good offense

Agreed, but as long as we can draft OL starters to give him time to find those weapons. And LB (and CB?) starters to stop the D backsliding. I'd now be looking to what we could get in FA to bolster LB and CB, at least for depth so we can draft 1-2 potential D starters.

1. Sell to the highest bidder.

2. Draft. Will need a QB next season.

If Mac Jones is there at 19 I'd let him slip another 19 spots and then pass over him again

If a supposed top QB makes it out of the top 10 he's probably not a real top QB
