Chiefs are giving former Pats’ OL Joe Thuney a five-year, $80 million deal, per source.

Good timing for that guy to be hitting free agency.

To me, that clears the water a little bit for both sides with regard to what a Scherff long term deal should look like. Maybe they get something done now.

But remember, anyone can play the guard position - I mean you can just fill that spot with just a guy and be fine...no sense in paying big money for an elite talent at that position...

Apparently the Jets are getting calls about trading LB C.J.Mosely..... $6m cap hit this year, should WFT be interested?

This guy just gets leverage dropped off at his door on silver platters. His AAV is at least 17 million now.

Nah. Thuney was second team All-Pro in 2019, they gotta be very comparable.

If I'm Ron, give Scherff something comparable and call it a day.

I would check it out to see what Jets want, not sure how much I would give up for him though. Maybe 3rd round?

Not one WR rumored to be off the board so far. I wonder if that means teams aren't willing to pay a premium for a position that is considered to be pretty deep in the draft.

Pats didn't let Brady go, Brady told them he was leaving. Their big mistake was making "let's try to keep Tom" their Plan A for the offseason.

He told them he was leaving after he was only offered a one year deal by Belichick. Tampa offered two years, 50 million guaranteed, warm weather, no state taxes and better talent at the skill positions. Pretty much a no brainer.

Brady restructured his contract in the 2018 or 2019 offseason, so he could leave in the 2020 offseason. I'm pretty sure when this happened, Brady had made up his mind that he was leaving. You're right about all the other attributes about Tampa Bay, but it's not like they had to convince him, Brady knew he was leaving New England. The Patriots on the other hand, had this pipe dream that they could convince Tom to stay and that was Plan A, which was stupid IMO.

Nelson Agholor potentially the first WR off the board to the Patriots - nearing a deal per Rapoport...
