Does that mean WFT shouldn't be releasing Alex Smith since they signed a contract with him? DQ is acting in the confines of the rules it is all good IMO.
No it means if as he has said, he’s hated it there for almost since he’s been there, then he shouldn’t have signed a contract to stay. He had a path to leave, which was not sign an extension. Has nothing to do with anyone else.

Cardinals are giving J.J. Watt a two-year, $31 million deal that includes $23 million guaranteed, per source.

They must really think he's got something left in the tank.

Yeah and they will pair him with Jones so that should be a solid pass rush
He's missed a ton of time the last 5 years and will be 32 this month. I say good luck with that Cardinals.

Especially since he's been having back issues. That was one of the reasons I was fine with us not getting Stafford.

He's still good when healthy.
Key words when healthy.

What? Didn't expect that kind of contract at all for him. No knock on him, but he's not the player he once was (saying that I realized the guy is just one year older than me haha).

As a guy that saw all of the Watts play in high school and share an alma mater with them, that contract is nuts.
I can't see how he's going to be healthy enough to make that worthwhile for the Cardinals.
