The Dakotas want to merge so that would be pretty easy to keep it at 50.

Taxation without representation. To be fair the area was that way from day 1 of our country and if people want to be represented they can move less then 5 miles. This isnt the same as th british telling the colonies they could not have representatives in parliament.

But yes i am more than ok with dc getting statehood. Can we move the federal government to st louis or somewhere more centralized too? Please???

It is centralized right where it is.I meant physically central within the contiguous 48. But mostly just would love to get the federal govt out of this area.

DC and Puerto Rico should be states then chop california in half and oregon as well to balance things out

No no. The game is only to create democrat seats. This would never fly.

why?Personal animosity toward the federal government and the traffic congestion it brings.

It aint happening so it doesnt matter.

From a historical perspective the federal government was placed in dc as part of the grand compromise to keep government seperate from the powerful business interests located in NYC and Philadelphia. At this point the midatlantic is the equivalent of nyc and philadelphia back then and moving it to a less urbanized seat would keep that same intended balance.
