Good god some of you are just plain silly.
Marty Hurney ThreadMissouriSkin 01-19-2021, 01:41 PM Good god some of you are just plain silly. hagams 01-19-2021, 01:44 PM I like the move, whether it be short or long term. All of these positions have been fluid over the last 20 years, and we need stability. The fastest way to do that is to bring in someone that is familiar with the "system", just like we did when our QB room was located in the rehab facility. Keeping Kyle on is important to me, but not as important as building quality into our processes for the long term. -Mike- BaltimoreSkins 01-19-2021, 01:50 PM I am not wowed by this move which means it is probably a good hire. skinsfan69 01-19-2021, 04:49 PM such a yawn hire. hurney is an old washed up gm. carolina north we have become... Chief X_Phackter 01-19-2021, 05:02 PM such a yawn hire. hurney is an old washed up gm. carolina north we have become... The Panthers won a lot more games during RR's tenure than the WFT won during the same time period. I'll take Carolina North if it means winning a few more games each year and competing for the division on an annual basis. FrenchSkin 01-19-2021, 05:06 PM I saw speculation from one media member, don’t remember who, that Ron had made some indication about 2 GMs. If Kyle Smith stays on, and Hurney is here for 2-3 just to show him the ropes of the other aspects of being a GM outside of talent evaluation, I love it. If Hurney becomes the de facto talent evaluator and Kyle Smith leaves, I hate it. You pretty much nailed it and ended the thread IMO. We won't know much about how it's going before a couple of years, and with RR showing signs of turning this franchise around in year 1, I'll trust him on this one until I have a reason not to. NYCskinfan82 01-19-2021, 08:51 PM Not happy with this retread. Hope they give Kyle a new title don't want to lose him. Meks 01-19-2021, 08:53 PM An old Panthers retread. https://media4.giphy.com/media/d5mI2F3MxCTJu/200.gif Oh well. Hopefully KS stays, but if I was betting money, I think he's gone. Rivera is getting to build the franchise his way. We have already seen improvements, so I'll be patient with the move and optimistic he has a successful plan in place. This mooby 01-20-2021, 12:02 AM His track record is not that great but I will trust Ron's process until the process doesn't bear results. I think this means Kyle moving on somewhere he's more appreciated while I secretly hope he gets along great with Hurney and they develop a great rapport. Hopefully in 3 years time we're not sitting back looking at Rivera with regret while Smith joins the list of non-players succeeding elsewhere. You realize that after three years together in Carolina they were 15-1 and and in the Super Bowl right? |
