Would anyone be interested in me creating a GoFundMe page for us Warpathers to donate to?
Everyone would also get to nominate a charity/cause or 2nd someone else's vote (you don't need to donate to vote).
Then at the end of January we donate all of the money to the winning charity. In case of tie, we can split the money.
Let me know. I can set-up the page Wednesday evening. Then on February 1st, I'll donate all of the proceeds.
I'll set it up if we have 4 other people like/sponsor the idea.

No.
Lol. Hate GoFundMe? Open to another way of doing it? Or just hate the idea altogether?
We could just vote on a charity and make each make our own individual donation. Just thought it would be cool to maybe do something outside of football talk that didn't involve arguing about politics.

I got a friend with ALS and insurance does not cover his treatment. Go figure. He has a lot of people in his corner doing great work and we have raised quite a bit of money through go fund me. I’ll certainly donate to anyone We pick. Ive seen it work personally. Im sure there are enough people without their heads up their asses like Schneed to make this a work. Im in.

Yeah it’s just a horrible idea. If I want to donate to a charity, I’ll do it straight to the charity. Donating to a go fund me is not tax deductible, better to send it right to the organization. What exactly is the point of having this as a go-between?

Or is it your hope to donate $20 to a go fund me, have four others do the same, and then claim the $100 donation as a deduction on your taxes?

Yes, you got me. I want to save a dollar on my taxes next year. Someone else can start the page. Wasn't about me starting it. But since it was my idea, the onus should be on me to start it, at least initially.

If we have lots of people doing it, seems easier to just make 1 lump sum donation. But I'm fine with all of us nominating a charity together and making individual donations.
Note - You are one cynical dude. Tax purposes didn't even cross my mind. Didn't know that was the most important thing to donating.

Schneed, I've never had a problem with you. And still don't. You don't like the idea, nothing wrong with that. I can promise you and everyone here, I had nothing but the absolute best of intentions. If not enough people are on board, this thread will die off, and that's perfectly fine.
Go Team!!
