Until they lower their expectations, based on the uncertainty of the player and contract, their initial price will never be obtained. Lombardi Chief X_Phackter 02-09-2021, 09:40 AM One rumor that is true is this team is aggressively searching for a QB I would have been ok if they landed Stafford with their reported offer, and I'm glad they at least to appear to be interested in finding out what it would take to pry Watson away from the Texans (although I don't see that happening). I think it's pretty clear though, that you are going to have to overpay for a QB this offseason, whether through free agency or a trade. The demand is just too high. Some QBs are worth overpaying for (i.e. Watson), while some are not (i.e. Wentz, Darnold...). I hope they stick with their "measured approach" they were talking about in the Martin and Marty press conference. skinsfaninok 02-09-2021, 10:03 AM Jim Nagy on Keim's podcast talking about Jones "Very smart, quick with the ball and accurate. He's a pocket passer 100%" I wonder if we would take him at 19? skinsfaninok 02-09-2021, 10:06 AM I would have been ok if they landed Stafford with their reported offer, and I'm glad they at least to appear to be interested in finding out what it would take to pry Watson away from the Texans (although I don't see that happening). He's a TO machine. NYCskinfan82 02-09-2021, 10:15 AM I want Watson, I would give up draft picks but not any players. We have cap space to sign a few players a LB and FS and WR all of which would be 2nd tier players not elite. Ruhskins 02-09-2021, 10:41 AM The Eagles asking price, according to one team source, was ridiculous, laughable, and not worth countering. Until they lower their expectations, based on the uncertainty of the player and contract, their initial price will never be obtained. Lombardi The Iggles are stuck with Wentz and they are probably taking calls to say that they are doing their due diligence to trade him. It's going to be a mess for them this offseason. Monkeydad 02-09-2021, 10:42 AM Washington hasn't been in talks about trading for Carson Wentz, source says https://sports.yahoo.com/washington-hasnt-talks-trading-carson-035745881.html Not believing ANYTHING from Yahoo. As for Wentz, the Eagles screwed themselves with a contract they're not goig to be able to unload without taking a huge financial hit, if they can get rid of it at all. A comparable situation was Seattle with Matt Flynn. You don't pay a guy that much AND draft his replacement at the same time. :D Chief X_Phackter 02-09-2021, 10:43 AM I really don't want Darnold... He had a bad team but he was also very bad. He's a TO machine. Yeah I'm torn on Darnold. He was considered by many to be the most complete QB coming out of College in his draft class - projected to be a top tier NFL QB. Either the predictions were way off, or he is simply a victim of terrible circumstances and coaching in New York. If he could be had for a 2nd or 3rd round pick, I might take a chance on him. I mean I think he's better than Mac Jones / Kyle Trask at this point, right? I'm not sure the Jets are ready to part with him though. Chief X_Phackter 02-09-2021, 10:45 AM Not believing ANYTHING from Yahoo. It came from JP Finlay. I'd be more inclined to believe him. I doubt he'd put that out there if he didn't have a reliable source. A Carson Wentz trade to the WFT wouldn't make much sense for either team. |
