If we end up with Cam I'm going to lose it

Could have had him last year on the cheap and instead they traded for Allen, makes no sense why they'd want him now after that shit year in NE.

I agree but I'm just hoping it's 100% not happening

Only possible way it happens is if we strike out on all other opportunities between now and the draft. Even then I doubt it happens.

Alex Smith was 5-1 with a team that had a ton of injuries all over the offensive line and only one real WR weapon.

Give him the offseason to get healthier and stronger, give him the keys to an upgraded hot rod of an offense one more time, and have his successor learning from him and waiting for his turn.

I think that's our best plan. Smith and a rookie will cost far less than Watson and will allow us to massively upgrade this team in most other areas of need.

While its a possibility Smith can come back stronger than the start of last season I honestly think its highly doubtful. Had this years injury been to another part of his body maybe, but it was to an already reconstructed calf that already requires artificial support to function. He's past the age of peak physical fitness, so his ability to heal is declining not improving. There's every chance this injury will be recurring and I'd lay odds his consultant has told him so.

While he may think he can compete with the likes of Fitz (who is still quite mobile), the reality is the only advantage he has over any FA we bring in is going to be his brain and possibly his arm. At this point he's less mobile than Rivers, and he just retired.

I can't see Smith lasting more than 1/2 a season without missing game time. You need a better projection for your starter than that.

I have it as a 0% chance that Cam Newton is the QB in Washington next year.

I'd say it was almost 0% chance Newton is QB anywhere next year. I think last year showed his arm is shot.

I think Cam signs with us, but no guaranteed money or minimal, then bring in a QB from the draft with out trading. At that point we have Alex, Cam, TH on a rfa tender, Allen and the Rookie. Then we have a full on competition cutting 3 before the season hopefully ending up with a long term solution between TH, KA and the Rookie.

A 5 man QB competition? It would be pretty tough to properly evaluate everyone that way. Simply not enough snaps to go around.

It would be pure incompetence to bring Cam in. Just complete front office failure

It would actually be a Dan Snyder type move.

Kyle Allen is a much better QB than Cam right now. I would only accept 1 other trade and that would be for Watson. We shouldn’t be trying to trade for Goff or Carr.

Alex is not taking alot of early snaps and may retire, the Rookie wouldn't be in till after the draft. Likely Cam, KA and TH start in early camp, and that is the same QB room that RR had to close out his time in Carolina, and I see Cam there just because Hurney spoke fondly of him when he let him go in Carolina and may want to help Cam re-shape himself.
