Agreed. But it will be a tough choice if one of the better (best>?) QB's IS still available at #19. But this gives us the freedom to go for a lower pick like Mond and still reinforce the LB, OL and CB positions. If that QB pick washes out, we pick again next year.
Win- Win
Win 2021 - HEINICKE is the real deal we saw play against the Bucs. Rivera uses some top draft picks (first and third round) for the OL. We pick up SAMUELS as our FA WR. We pick up some decent TE FA as our TE #2. So the OL now is improved, has real depth and we’re ready when Scherff moves on next season. Heinicke has FitzMagic as his mentor. The OL protects him far better than against the Bucs. With Mc Lauren and Samuels and both TE plus Cam Sims and Harmon, we have turned WR /TE from a negative to a huge PLUS!!
Win 2022 - Heinicke is a flash in pan. Good backup QB though. Fitz gets us into the playoffs. Defense is great (top 3-5). Offense is improved but needs a premiere QB. We make a huge trade post 2021 season for the best QB in the draft of 2022.
