skinsfaninok 01-15-2021, 12:55 PM Mariota also has injury concerns, seemed like he was always hurt there. He'd be my last resort Monkeydad 01-15-2021, 02:27 PM I'm not confident in Mariota as a starter either. Chief X_Phackter 01-15-2021, 02:32 PM Not interested in Mariota. He turns the ball over too much, just like Fitz"magic". Trade #19 for Stafford, or bring in Tyrod Taylor. Both scenarios for me have them drafting a QB to develop either in 2021 or 2022. skinsfaninok 01-15-2021, 02:36 PM Not interested in Mariota. He turns the ball over too much, just like Fitz"magic". Trade #19 for Stafford, or bring in Tyrod Taylor. Both scenarios for me have them drafting a QB to develop either in 2021 or 2022. I get the Tyrod , VA connection but lets be real... He's not very good. He never throws the ball downfield so he's another Alex Smith but not as accurate... No thanks Chief X_Phackter 01-15-2021, 02:54 PM I get the Tyrod , VA connection but lets be real... He's not very good. He never throws the ball downfield so he's another Alex Smith but not as accurate... No thanks I think if you do some research, you'll find that his career completion percentage is on par with Alex, and he throws the ball down the field more than Mariota, Smith, and Dalton - per Pro Football Reference stats, and he's mobile. This is an old article, but sums up his capabilities: https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2597429-tyrod-taylors-deep-accuracy-is-keeping-the-bills-in-playoff-contention Give him some weapons, a good running game and this defense, and it could be a nice recipe in my opinion. It wouldn't break the bank, and you keep all your draft picks. Monkeydad 01-15-2021, 03:19 PM I get the Tyrod , VA connection but lets be real... He's not very good. He never throws the ball downfield so he's another Alex Smith but not as accurate... No thanks Seriously, now many changes does one guy get? He's looking for a 5th team now. If Shanny was still here and we needed a backup for RG3, Tyrod would work. Not now. MissouriSkin 01-15-2021, 03:20 PM I’d sign Mariotta, Tyrod, Dalton, keep Allen and Heinicke and draft someone. Hell you get 90 guys for the offseason, sign as many guys as you can and see who sticks. We HAVE to solve the QB issue. I’m thinking the more guys you bring in the better. skinsfaninok 01-15-2021, 03:29 PM Seriously, now many changes does one guy get? He's looking for a 5th team now. If Shanny was still here and we needed a backup for RG3, Tyrod would work. Not now. He's not any good man, time to bury that possibility Chief X_Phackter 01-15-2021, 03:33 PM Seriously, now many changes does one guy get? He's looking for a 5th team now. If Shanny was still here and we needed a backup for RG3, Tyrod would work. Not now. LOL, ok. How many chances?...but let's bring in Fitzpatrick who has played for 25% of the league. Tyrod has been a victim of some unfortunate circumstances to be honest. Regime change in Buffalo - traded to Browns to be their starter who turned to Baker after one bad game, brought in by the Chargers to be their starter then the team Dr. pierces his lung giving him a pain shot for his fractured ribs... He's not Deshaun Watson...I'm just saying if you don't want to break the bank, don't want to give up draft picks, want someone who doesn't turn the ball over, is a dual threat, can throw the ball down the field, is relatively young, and has a winning record, he just might be your guy. Chief X_Phackter 01-15-2021, 03:40 PM He's not any good man, time to bury that possibility Well, I guarantee you he won't remain in LA as the backup to Herbert. Someone will bring him in to compete for the starting role - Colts, 49ers, Broncos, Bears... |
