MTK 02-12-2021, 01:20 PM Mac Jones seems like a career backup to me, I dunno, just doesn't get me excited Ruhskins 02-12-2021, 01:28 PM LOL. No way. First, why would Wilson who is complaining about blocking come here, one of the most dysfunctional franchises long-term, when we have no franchise LT, and only one above average lineman, Scherff? We aren't getting Wilson. No one is. Houston will let him hold out before they trade him. NEVER going to happen. Even if it did, we have a stud DL and not a single other elite unit, and only one player, McL, that any other team would honestly want or call anything approaching elite. We are 1-2 drafts from contending even with QB solved. Which is of course why trading for a QB is foolish. The two SB teams were stacked with elite talent at every level, as were the teams that made deep playoff runs. We again beat ONE winning team this year, snuck into playoffs 7-9, losing record, got soundly beaten by the Bucs, and we're all the sudden a contender? Can I have some of what you're smoking? If this team got Watson or Wilson, it would never contend, because it needs a TON more talent via draft, and we'd have to trade so much for these QBs that we couldn't acquire that talent. We just went to the playoffs, the rest of the NFC East is going to be not so good for the next year or so. We have a lot of young talented players under rookie contracts (Terry, Gibson, Allen, Payne, Chase, Curl) or on reasonable contracts (Matty I.). I just don't understand this hesitation to getting a top flight QB. Hell, Tampa Bay just showed how a stacked team could not succeed with shitty QB play (Winston). skinsfaninok 02-12-2021, 01:31 PM "Watson has a list of teams, The 49ERS and Broncos are 2 of them that he's interested in" Jeremy Fowler skinsfaninok 02-12-2021, 01:35 PM Mac Jones seems like a career backup to me, I dunno, just doesn't get me excited He's been compared to Eli Manning, great pocket awareness, accurate, average arm and can't move a lick Monkeydad 02-12-2021, 01:36 PM "Watson has a list of teams, The 49ERS and Broncos are 2 of them that he's interested in" Jeremy Fowler And Jets. I've heard reports that's the top destination. I don't understand it, but it's been out there. https://www.miamiherald.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/armando-salguero/article248718210.html skinsfaninok 02-12-2021, 01:36 PM And Jets. I've heard reports that's the top destination. I don't understand it, but it's been out there. https://www.miamiherald.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/armando-salguero/article248718210.html People assume the Jets, because they have the draft capital for such a trade. But I highly doubt Watson wants to go there. 49ers make sense, Denver doesn't make sense to me. Plus I can see Houston not wanting to trade Watson to another AFC team. Monkeydad 02-12-2021, 01:42 PM This ^ Just don't trust him when he's had it so easy on that team. I could see him being another Ryan Mallett or Matt Cassel...talented, but just not quite good enough for NFL. You're talking like Alabama is the only tough team in the SEC. Yes, they'll roll over none-conference opponents easily, but the SEC is no cakewalk. This is why you see so many top draft picks from SEC schools, not just Alabama. Their schedule this year had no cupcake teams: Missouri, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Tennessee Georgia, Mississippi State, Kentucky, Auburn, LSU, Arkansas, Florida, Notre Dame and Ohio State. I'd been repeating the plan of Alex Smith, Mac Jones and Taylor Heinicke being our QBs in 2021. By the time Smith is finished, Mac should be ready and he would've had the best teacher in the NFL to learn from. sdskinsfan2001 02-12-2021, 01:57 PM Mac Jones seems like a career backup to me, I dunno, just doesn't get me excited One day I feel this exact same way* then the next day I think he's worth the risk at 19. Going to be interesting to see where he ends up. EdmundDorf 02-12-2021, 02:24 PM One day I feel this exact same day then the next day I think he's worth the risk at 19. Going to be interesting to see where he ends up. He is that kind of player, better get used to it as they are all like that at 19 and above :D |
