Im late to this Taylor Heinike thing.
I was wondering why we didnt tender him since hes a RFA but the contract seems good.
Taylor Heinicke's 2-year contract includes salaries of $1 million and $1.5 million in 2021 and 2022, respectively.
The rest can be earned in bonuses/incentives, for a max value of $8.75 million. pic.twitter.com/Fy6rFnGJL7

I wonder what the bonus/incentives are but i like this. Min cap hit and if he takes live snaps in the reg season, his salary increases.
Im not a "Heinike should be our starter" but I like the contract and what RR did here.
Maybe the kid (like 27 yrs old) can ball? I loved what he did in that 1.5 games or so.
What’s next for the Seahawks and Russell Wilson? (https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/02/11/whats-next-for-the-seahawks-and-russell-wilson/)

Listened to a radio interview with Rich Eisen and RW yesterday...he clearly wants out, or wants more control on draft picks and FA signings.
He won't finish his career in Seattle.

Apparently all the QBs should also be the GMs too.

Yeah, seriously.
Since when is having input on the roster something QB’s expect to have?

I'm sorry but RW should not have fucking control over draft picks... This is getting a little ridiculous

Since Brady did that this past season and won the Super Bowl.
He didn't have a lot of saying on it in New England, but he sure as hell kept them from having a replacement for him (see Jimmy G. trade).
I don't agree with QBs having a saying on personnel matters, but then you see places like Green Bay, where they refuse to give Rodgers offensive weapons (and draft his replacement instead) or Seattle not giving Wilson an offensive line to protect him, I see their point.

I would see their point but except for Brady I don’t see any of those guys giving a whole lotta money back on their 40 some million dollar a year contracts that they demand so they aren’t “disrespected” and then the team can’t sign or keep a ton of other decent players....then said QBs bitch they have no help....

7. ***TRADE***
Washington Football Team receives:
2021 first-round pick (No. 7 overall)
Detroit Lions receive:
2021 first-round pick (No. 19 overall)
2021 third-round pick (No. 82 overall)
2022 first-round pick
Washington Football Team (via DET) — Trey Lance, QB, North Dakota State
With Alex Smith, Kyle Allen and Taylor Heinicke, Washington has several short-term options at quarterback. But Lance would give the organization a young, high-upside player with the physical talent and football character that translates well to the pro level. With the competition for quarterbacks in this draft, it will likely take multiple draft picks, including a future first, to make this deal happen for Washington.

No surprise but the WFT has called about Sam Darnold per ESPN
