Generally agree except AS was clear he wanted a starter position. He was not signing on to a team to be 2nd (or 3rd) string. But agreed that no team was going to let him bethe presumptive starter going into the season.

And I want a threesome with Helen of Troy and Cleopatra.
I think for good money he agrees to be a 2nd or even 3rd stringer.
No team should let him be presumptive starter. Even pre-injury 100% healthy he was just an average QB. Great guy, but was just detached from reality thinking anyone would want him to start or even trust him to be primary backup. If he could have made $5M plus to be a backup, something respectable, I bet he takes it, but we again have a player that only Skins were dumb enough to pay big money. Hopefully last of old FO errors we're still paying for.

Everyone in the franchise that was part of picking Guice royally fucked up. Pretty embarrassing.

This isn't about our team, but I mean there had to been tons of obvious red flags for a pro team to know about.

Maybe maybe not. Big programs cover up the misdeeds of athletes. Everywhere. Takes some real sleuthing to find out the BS lots of times.
Arrogant GMs and coaches can always convince themselves talent outweighs character or that they will keep him in line. You don't win drafting criminals.

LSU did have a big coverup...I posted a huge article on it here not long ago.
Guice wasn't the only POS player they were protecting.

Question why is Payne's 5th year option ($8.529m) more expensive than Vea's ($7.6 million in 2022)? I thought these were based on where they were drafted?

Doesn't it also factor positional pay, on average or something? I don't know.

Big money. Coaches making $5M a year or more, and universities making more off football programs than tuition, care about winning and keeping the gravy train rolling, and you thus have tutors do all the schoolwork and fixers that coverup all misdeeds. Remember Carroll the mess he left coming to NFL? Then of course when the shizznit hits fan everyone plays dumb and feigns being apalled.

Both are DTs.
