I guess "My body, my choice" isn't a thing anymore.
It's his choice, just saying his reasoning is poor.

MTK 06-09-2021, 03:44 PM I guess "My body, my choice" isn't a thing anymore. It's his choice, just saying his reasoning is poor. Pervis_Griffith 06-09-2021, 03:56 PM At some point, people have had enough opportunity to get the vaccine if they want it. Those who are vaccinated should feel safe -- they've been vaccinated. Those who aren't vaccinated, can't bitch if they get the virus. They've had plenty of opportunities to get it. 99.5% of people under the age of 70 have recovered after getting the virus. A percentage that is higher than seasonal flu. If you want to run the risk you are in the 0.5%, well that's on you. It's time to move the fuck on. MTK 06-09-2021, 04:08 PM I'm sure everyone would love to move the F on. The more people that vax up the quicker it will happen too. But the reality is a positive test in the locker room can wreak havoc on your lineup and cost you games. This team did an outstanding job navigating through the covid mess last year and I hope that continues. All it takes is one mistake though. Yes it's Sweat's and other players choice not to vax, but that decision can have a big effect on the entire team. Chico23231 06-09-2021, 04:13 PM I'm sure everyone would love to move the F on. I’m really shocked less than half the locker room isn’t big vaxy yet. Seriously could cause problems DYoungJelly 06-09-2021, 10:42 PM It's his choice, just saying his reasoning is poor. What's his reasoning? mooby 06-09-2021, 10:45 PM What's his reasoning? Doesn't trust the science is what it looks like. I disagree with his stance here, especially in light of less than half the team getting the vaccine. They did a great job of staying off the covid list last year, it would be a shame if it bit us in the ass this year because half the team doesn't give a shit. I’m retired Army and there were several times in my career where it was “you’re getting this shot, don’t worry about what it is it will be in your shot record”…and it’s not there and I don’t know what it was. Considering the politics around this virus, I haven’t and won’t get the shot either. Oh and every person I know including my wife and son have had side effects. +1 I don't have any immediate plans on getting the shot either. I had Covid (March of 2020), and came away with only 3 days of losing my ability to taste and smell, along with a dry cough for a 1 1/2 to 2 weeks. I know there are many others whose situation was much different and dire, but I'm just putting my situation out there. I've also never taken a flu vaccination and has NEVER had the flu, and I'm 48 years old. I, too, know a guy who took the "jab" and has dealt with severe fatigue (while occasionally dealing with being in a "fog") issues for the past 2 1/2 to 3 weeks. For the people who has decided to get the shot, then that's your prerogative. But don't chastise others who are against doing so. There are known complications for lots of people who has gotten the vaccine, as well as some folks are going on about their business and feel fine. But who's to say there may not be complications down the road..... One doesn't know. SCRedskinsFan 06-10-2021, 12:47 AM I'd guess most teams are in the same boat with vaccinations. We're talking about young athletes who already think they are invincible, couple that with vaccine hesitancy in the black community and I think getting to herd immunity in the NFL among the players is a long shot. I love when people say they want “more facts” before they get the shot. That seems to be a common mantra, and Sweat voiced that opinion as well. Like the results from hundreds of millions of shots in arms aren’t enough data. The benefits are clear and evident, as are the downsides of not getting the shot. For our team, the NFL as a whole, our communities and the world at large. |
