And how do we know Tebow won't be a good ST player? Don't think anyone expects him to be #1 TE, but nothing says he can't make the team as depth.

If he makes the team as a starter at TE that would be an indictment on all the other natural TE's on the roster.

You guys are acting like age isn't a thing. His ceiling as a 34yo player is lower than the ceilings of the younger TE's.

Sure he doesn't have the wear and tear most 34 yo's do, but rare is the player who gets better in their 30's.

I would bet plenty of corners shy away from contact at times. They're not the biggest dudes out there and they don't get paid for hitting.Accurate. Just something I've never been a fan of. And, one of the reasons I liked Breeland, agressive against screens and outside runs.
Don't care about big hits. But love to see a DB dive underneath a block and wrap a RB's ankles. I'm aware this is not their main job, and not the most important though.

Tebow's natural position based on body type is not a traditional TE, but an H-back like Gibbs used frequently.

He's too slow to be a RB, LOL. Agree he's a bit small for TE though. He has the speed of a blocking TE but not the optimal size. You think of how many decent TEs we added to roster, not like Meyer just fell off turnip truck. He knows Tebow and must see something or know something that makes him think Tebow is at least 90th best.

It's marketing, Dude. Tebow is immensely popular in Jacksonville. He brings more attention and with it more earnings opportunities to the Jaguars. Anything they might get from him on the field is gravy.

My post said H-back like Gibbs used, not a RB. Chris Cooley is the example who came to mind of being used frequently and recently in that role.

Tebow's speed and Cooley's speed are comparable. Don't read more into my post than is there, but at least read the post.

Coaches often view such "marketing" as a distraction best avoided. I don't think any coach views contribution on field as gravy. Sounds like THE DAN though, LOL.

I dont think Tebow would make an NFL roster but Jaguars are a bit differently run.

I could see a package where he is in for 10 or so snaps a game.

Short yardage and 2 pt conversions = he could be wildcat, QB or decoy .. move him from outside to inside and see if D shifts etc

Im convinced a coach soon will come up with a specialized short yardage/2 pt conversions unit with someone like Tebow or Saints Hill and go for it every single time for 2 points.

They will have a 85% or so conversions rate for short yard and 2 pts tries.

20 years from now all teams will have a special short yardage unit.

Speaking of gravy, there are a lot of chefs in the Jags kitchen.

Anyone else get the feeling that the Jags will soon be the car wreck that no one in the NFL can't drive by without slowing down and staring?

Maybe we can scoop up Trevor Lawrence on the cheap in 3 years, after Urban is out of the league, and his replacement fucks up the talent at his disposal.
