Darnold has enough of a resume to see that he's nothing special. Less than 60% completions, takes a lot of sacks, seems to play with his hair on fire with little pocket presence a lot of the time. That's not from me that's from a Jets fan buddy of mine.

Schrager reports Rivera wanted to cut Haskins last week (https://www.hogshaven.com/2020/12/28/22204021/peter-schrager-says-rivera-wanted-to-cut-haskins-before-the-carolina-game-but-was-talked-out-of-it), but was talked out of it by multiple people inside the org, including Doug Williams. Doug says it's "news to me" and SI's sources contradict the report. (https://www.si.com/nfl/washingtonfootball/news/exclusive-sources-detail-facts-of-rivera-doug-williams-involvement-in-washington-football-team-release-of-qb-dwayne-haskins) (But it's not like Doug was going to say "yeah definitely I talked him out of it last week and because of me you witnessed Sunday's fiasco!")

Anyway, I am not the only one seeing Snyder's ghost around this mess... which makes me even more glad Haskins was finally cut !

Schrager reports... mmmmk. Said who? He didn't name a damn person - who is he tied to in this organization that he could get that nugget? Nobody...

I'm not buying it. RR did what he had to do, which was put the QB in on Sunday that he thought gave the team the best chance to win the division - period. 31 other coaches in the league would have likely done the same thing in that impossible position. Now that Sunday happened, it's clear that DH doesn't offer anymore than Heinicke, and after two years invested, the decision became much easier.

Man, people just like drumming up shit about this organization - whether it's there or not. Nope, not buying that at all.

Fair enough. And I sure hope you're right. I just think it's a legit thing to fear. An anyway, Ron got to cut him this week, and it's all that matter I guess.

Unfortunately this sort of thing has been so common over the past 20+ years that people just come to expect it with this organization - and don't question it.

I really think with RR here that stuff is over. If not, I don't expect him to hang around too long.

I'm cool with that, Matt Ryan would be a great 2 year fit

Matt Ryan is not a FA and if traded for would cost us high draft pics for a 2 to 3 year player . . . maybe if the price was right as i like Matt Ryan a lot . . . but not at too high a cost to handcuff us for too long. Does Julio Jones come with him?

This guy is a sleeper and just might slip into the 1st round, he’s a junior not sophomore. From everything I’ve read he has the potential to be better than Trask and Jones. You can watch him Friday on the Peach Bowl. You judge.

If Snyder was truly involved, Haskins would still be on the team. I don't buy this at all. Also Snyder has other issues that are keeping him preoccupied.

I like him. I'll be watching the Peach Bowl.

I don't know if he would come in and play right away, but he is definitely an intriguing prospect that could be had either by trading back into the end of the 1st round à la M. Sweat, or perhaps even with their 2nd round pick.

I say sign CJ Beathard as a 1 year stop gap, draft Ridder and let him sit and learn.

If you want to talk culture change - did you hear one peep, rumor, innuendo, or shaming statement toward Haskins from "sources" over this past season. The closest we come is a note from Schrager (who??) that says RR wanted to cut Haskins. Hell who didn't want to cut him. Even in Schrager's story he says that they talked about reasons and Rivera chose to keep him. So, even from this attempt at stirring drama, they reinforce that the fact that Rivera a) is in charge b) listens to differing opinions and can reflect versus dictate.

This is the next new era in the history of this team and maybe it leads back to respectability then excellence. GO TEAM
