What a mess Philly has gotten themselves into. I kinda hope Jalen has about the same success that Wentz has had so far this season, but my guess is he is going to elevate that team's play over the last four games. Wentz, under normal circumstances would be done in Philly, but with that contract, and his performance this year...who is going to take that on?

I feel like I've seen this before in NY with the Giants. Wentz isn't bad .........., yes he is playing bad but the Eagles have been decimated with injuries almost from day one and Jalen hasn't take the hits Wentz has . I know it's strange because of Foles but maybe the Bears could use him.

Agree. No way would I give up on wentz.
AnonEmouse 12-09-2020, 11:58 AM Indy makes sense in some ways. They will almost certainly move on from Rivers and Brissett, and reuniting with Reich could rejuvenate Wentz. But yeah, that contract. Only way I could see that working out was if they and Wentz voided it and maybe paid back some signing bonus, but I don't see him that desperate to get out of town.

Why, because of performance, injury..?
So you think they gave him that massive contract extension, barely over a year ago, and then decided they had seen enough by the 2020 draft?

The writing was on the wall, he was always hurt and honestly he really isn't that good, he's a Kirk Cousins type of QB. Mid tier
Monkeydad 12-09-2020, 01:07 PM Wentz counts for $60 million in cap space IF THEY CUT HIM, with a $40 million cap hit next year!
I hope no one wants him. Philly will be in cap hell.
Despite poor play at quarterback this season, the Philadelphia Eagles likely won't release Carson Wentz due to the $60 million in dead cap that would occur this offseason, as Ian Rapoport of NFL Network explained:
https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2921144-rapoport-impossible-for-eagles-to-cut-carson-wentz-with-60m-cap-hit-in-2021
Rapoport: 'Impossible' for Eagles to Cut Carson Wentz with $60M Cap Hit in 2021
"They basically can't do it. It is almost impossible to move on from Carson Wentz,"
Rapoport said. "They have no choice."
Wentz signed a four-year, $128 million extension with the Eagles that could keep him under contract through the 2024 season. He has struggled mightily in 2020, however, throwing a league-high 15 interceptions while the team has gone just 3-7-1 in his starts.
His 231 passing yards per game would also be a career low for the 27-year-old.
The money owed to Wentz likely plays a role, with the starter making $39.4 million in 2020 and $25.4 million in 2021, per Spotrac. The team would have $59.2 million in dead cap if he is released after the season, although the number drops to $24.5 million after the 2021 campaign.

I think Hurts was brought in as insurance because of the injury history, but I have to believe that they weren't expecting Wentz to fold like a lounge chair this season. Hurts was drafted only 9 months after they gave Wentz that huge payday...
Who knew his psyche was so fragile. I think it's 100% mental at this point.
