Chief X_Phackter 12-02-2020, 01:46 AM If Kyle was responsible for the draft picks of the last 3 years, then of course they need to figure out a way to retain him. However, I wasn't in the building so I don't know who was most responsible... What about Doug Williams, Jay Gruden, Bruce Allen, and Dan Snyder? I could never figure out who was calling the shots, and it was always portrayed as a collective effort.

If you read John Keim, he has mentioned many times Kyle as the main person for picking the players.
Not a Keim article but read who the architect for the last 3 drafts has been.

sdskinsfan2001 12-02-2020, 02:43 AM We are getting better as an organization, I'm gonna go full positive here, and assume he stays.
Also, everything I read, says him and Rivera had a good working relationship.
Let's officially grow-up and make KS the GM.
WCommandersfan99 12-02-2020, 02:56 AM Really hope they make him GM soon. He has a keen eye for talent for sure. Happy with his work here and feel he would make a great GM.
FrenchSkin 12-02-2020, 03:26 AM Yeah those are all good picks it seems, but if you are going to give him credit for all those, you have to also acknowledge
Derrius Guice
Geron Christian Sr
Troy Apke
Shaun Dion Hamilton
Greg Stroman
Trey Quinn
Dwayne Haskins
Bryce Love
Wes Martin
Ross Pierschbacher
Jordan Brailford
Etc, etc
Football people were overruled by Snyder on the Haskins pick, they didn't have a 1st round pick on him.
Your point is still valid though, and he still did a really good job.
Chief X_Phackter 12-02-2020, 03:57 AM If Kyle has been the architect, then I do hope they keep him, promote him... My point was only that for the last 2-3 years nobody knew who was in charge of making the calls for the draft or free agency. And when the questions were asked, everybody always said it was just a team effort, a collective decision, etc... Somehow (maybe it was Kyle) they have done a pretty good job with the last 3 drafts. Whatever the recipe has been, I hope they continue it. If that means retain/promote Kyle, then do it.

Chief, I'd feel pretty confident stating that your football comments are top 5 on this site, among a large majority of us, if not all of us. You have a license to say whatever the eff you want to. You have a sh&t ton of credibility points available.
SFREDSKIN 12-02-2020, 10:32 AM We’ve lost some of the top current coaches in the NFL. I’m not about to lose the best talent evaluator in the NFL (yes, he has proven to be the best).
Kyle Shanarat (fired w/ his GM/coach daddy who couldn’t pick defensive players or coaches, his downfall)
Matt LaFleur left when Shanarat was fired
Sean McVay came to Washington with Shanarat but was retained by Gruden
Arthur Smith OC Titans, the son of Fedex founder Fred Smith, Gibbs brought him as a QC assistant for 2 years. He will probably be an NFL coach next year
Kevin O’Connell will also probably be a head coach candidate next year.
It would be a surprise if Smith isn't retained but I guess that's up to Ron.
Chico23231 12-02-2020, 11:33 AM Losing Kyle Smith would be another terrible mistake by this organization.
