Guys I'm telling you. We lost McVay, and the guy in Green Bay right? Is Ron threatened by the young coaches/execs? Anyway I bet we notice a difference in drafts if Kyle leaves. I think we might be in for mediocrity if he leaves.
It's a reason why Hurneyy and those other guys don't have jobs. Give the young guys a chance. Wonder what Snyder would do if Kyle goes somewhere else, and is more successful than Ron down the line. I'd be pissed....
This exactly how I feel, I hope they have a plan to keep Smith or our drafts will be average at best.

In the history of football, other people besides Kyle have had good drafts.

For the GM job: definitely feels like they will hire from outside. Haven’t heard Kyle Smith getting interest in GM jobs. But key: see where things fall next week when GM spots filled. Do asst GM jobs open? That’s when a team could call.

Obviously you haven’t seen what he has done in 3 years. If you like mediocrity and people like Vinny and Bruce then you’ll be ok with it? Smith has the “it” factor and Rivera should try to make it work instead of being stubborn and bringing retreads. You have a proven young guy who could give you years of great drafts and you want to let him go? In my opinion it’s dumb. Another Washington fuck up.

He’s under contract and I’m sure other teams probably think we would be crazy to let him go. If he decides to leave he’ll have a job within minutes.

Dude I’ve been a fan for 50 years so yes I do know what has gone on with Kyles drafts so you can cut the condescension. You are just way WAY over the top about this so I’m not going to talk to you any more about it. You are just being silly about this considering you have no idea what is going to happen.

Dude so have I And know that people like Smith and Beathard don’t grow on trees. Casserly was ok, after that they all sucked until Smith came along. 30 years of losing ok with you?

Yes, there are other parts of the GM role. But talent acquisition is the most important imo.
In general, you don't want to lose employees that are good at their jobs.
Whatever the decision is, I hope it's based on keeping Kyle Smith.
I'll be pretty bummed if we hire someone else, and KS takes it as a slap in the face and leaves.
That being said, we don't know all the interworkings, or how involved/informed KS is of the situation.
I'll trust Rivera until it's proven we shouldn't.

Facebook fact checkers deem this only half true as other people have had bad drafts too.
