Funny, I never hear anyone calling Drew Brees - Checkdown Charlie
I think Brees was also dealing with a shoulder injury this year too which is why he didn't know immediately about the broken ribs. Not sure if it's on his throwing arm but def would explain it more. Looks like Brees' retirement year isn't going the way he anticipated.

Worth pointing out he's been most of the season with his supposed top 2 WR's, Thomas and Sanders. Kamara is carrying the load because he's had no names to launch it to. And now he's off at least 2 weeks with broken ribs.
True, very true.

He already has more sacks this year than last year, and he's on pace to have more tackles, more tackles for loss, and more QB hits. He's not great in coverage, but that has never been his strength as far as I know. That said, he is almost 10% better this year in pass coverage than last year. He is what he is, and I'm not sure it's worse this year than last year. Either way, the position needs to be upgraded.
Fair enough. Maybe stats don't back up my feeling, and maybe I'm dead end wrong on this.
I just had a feeling last year seeing a bad ass mofo flashing up a lot in the backfield, and making some decent plays in coverage, and this year he looks lost and out of place, and he seems to be in the back field only when sent blitzing.

Maybe because the D is better overall and he doesn't stand out as much.

Maybe. I'd also be interested in listening to Cooley's film breakdown on Bostic last season and comparing it with this season's. The later are embarrassingly bad but sadly I don't think there's any of the former because Cooley wasn't with Sheehan last year. He was doing some sort of breakdown on the team's website IIRC but that didn't last long and he couldn't be nearly as straight forward.
EDIT: he only did an actual breakdown (https://www.washingtonfootball.com/audio/the-chris-cooley-show-epsiode-80) after week 1 last year, with that weird voice kid, don't know if he's actually giving individual grades but I'll listen to it to see what he says about Bostic.

I wonder what the percentage of pre snap is the jet sweep motion. I see that a ton
Only 65 attempts league wide on Jet sweep pass.
SF leads the way
WFT has 0 Jet sweep pass attempts.
For Jet sweep run plays
115 Total league wide
WFT =5
Rams lead the league in attempts.

So on passes of 20 plus yards downfield
Haskins was 1 of 10 for 39 yards
Allen was 3 of 6 for 100 yards
Smith is 6 of 12 for 221 yards
Deep % Haskins = 6.8% Allen 6.7% Alex Smith = 11.6%
Haskins is 4th lowest , Allen 5th. Only Brees, Mullens and Newton are lower.
Smith is ranked 19th
Working for PFF must be cool. I forgot, thats awesome.
Thank you for the stats. Very cool

Yeah, he still hasn't been himself this year, whether it's injury or simply father time catching up. Maybe it's a little of both.

I just do it during the season and work mostly college games but yeah it's pretty cool. And no problem my man.
Also, when you have Kamara ... you GET THE MAN THE BALL! Lol, checkdown or not.
