I'd give Darnold 1 more year with a real coach. They have the number 2 pick and a shit ton of cap space. They can improve the offense drastically if they draft well and sign a couple guys. I am not convinced Alex Smith will come back next year. My impression of Allen is that he’s probably a journeyman but a decent backup QB. I’m not sure about Heinickle except that he has potential even though he is “short” at 6’. Let Heinickle, the rookie first pick and Allen compete for the QB spot.
