Dozens of migrants have been protesting for days outside of a New York City luxury hotel where they'd been sheltering because they refuse to move to a barracks-style warehouse facility in Brooklyn that some say does not have sufficient heat or enough bathrooms or showers, according to multiple reports.
The migrants — all of them single men and mostly asylum seekers from Latin America — have been staying in private rooms at the Watson Hotel in Hell's Kitchen for weeks and in some cases, months, the New York Daily News reported. But over the weekend, the city began kicking them out to make room for migrant families, the Daily News reported.

Able bodied single men shouldnt be able to claim "asylum" in the US, get to stay in $500 night hotel rooms in NYC .. and then refuse to move to lesser accommodations.
I dont wish them ill will but its going to be cold AF this weekend in NYC.
I hope they make the right choice for themselves.

Your face is absurd and embarrassing.
Out of left field is an idiom that originated in America. We will examine the meaning of the idiom out of left field, from where this expression is derived, and some examples of its use in sentences.
Out of left field describes something that takes one by surprise, something that is unexpected or perhaps incongruous. The phrase out of left field may refer to something that is odd or does not fit. The idiom out of left field is taken from American baseball terminology, and its earliest use seems to stem from the 1950s. Its origin is unknown. Some say it was a phrase borrowed by the songwriters in Tin Pan Alley to mean a song that is a surprise success. Others say that the expression stems from a Chicago ballpark that was located near a mental institution, which was located behind the baseball diamond’s left field. Supposedly, the mental patients heckled players and spectators from behind left field.

Whoa whoa whoa! What’s with all the animosity? I thought this was the common ground thread?

That is just absurd. I am firmly in middle class and I can't afford a $500 a night hotel.
A quick grinding gears with hotels…man fuck all the taxes and fees with the per day rates

My only concern is do we need to see if there isn't a common consensus on how it originated? If you have 5 agencies and 3 different theories on how it originated it ain't much help. We need more evidence before a solid consensus is reached.

While we're in the common ground thread - wtf happened to the rental car industry nowadays?
Going out of town soon and I'm using Kyte for the first time because all the usual suspects are charging 40-60 a day for a $20 sedan. I typically use Autoslash to find the best deal but all the names on there are totally unfamiliar, Mex Rent-a-car, Kyte, NextCar, Easirent, Fox (who I absolutely loathe after a horrible experience in Denver), Economy, and then Hertz are the best-to-worst in terms of affordability.
