Come up with a new name for the Redskins

I was thinking about this last night, ultimately what's more important the new name or the new logo?



Seems to me a cool new name could be ruined by a shitty logo. But a lame name could be saved by a really cool logo.



Hopefully they'll hit a HR with both, but if you could only have one what would you want? A great name or a great logo?The logo and the "fan connect" terms are more important than the actual name because they create that visual and emotional bond to the team. "Go Team" isn't as powerful as "go pack go".
Likewise a cluttered logo (like the San Antonio one) doesn't build that deep link, to many strings pulled at once without a real focal point.

I don't know if I could say the logo matters more than the name, because the name determines a lot of what the logo and team identity can be.

What I can say though is that a very good logo would help me get on board with a name I don't like.

That's what I'm thinking with a rather bland possibility like Commanders. A killer logo would bring it all together.

A killer logo would bring it all together.I get what you are saying but picking a bland name and trying to spruce it up with the logo would be so Dan snyderesque. Like putting makeup on a pig. There is no reason the name AND logo shouldn't be a winner. Especially if they have devoted the time, energy and money to the selection as they imply they have.

I'm just saying that no matter what the name is, there will be people that won't like it. One person's clean and simple is another's generic and boring. So for those that don't like the name maybe the logo saves it from being a total fail for them.

With Redwolves or Redanything, they could use the old "R" logo from the Lombardi/early- Allen era. Switch the feather to a wolf's tail. Or use the scripted "R" made famous by Joe Gibbs.

Commanders sounds like an arena football team.

FSU and The Seminole Nation have a working relationship and the Noles have the tribes approval to do that.
