A story to sum up Bugel: Before the NFC Champ game in Jan 1983, Bugel was nervous facing the Dallas DL. The non-smoker was smoking in the locker room in pre-game. After the anthem, he shouted for Dallas DL coach Ernie Stautner. Then flipped him off. Russ Grimm went on to destroy Randy White.

Oh man.. This one really hurts. We have now lost two great Redskins recently in Bobby Mitchell and now Bugel... :-(

The world has lost a wonderful man in Joe Bugel. He was filled with enthusiasm and love of life. Rest in Peace, Joe.
