I love the schedule. Week 8 bye, mini bye after thanksgiving and our team has time to gel before SF, Seattle and the 2nd Philly game to cement our division title!

I like the way the bye and the "mini bye" work out as well. Now, on to the teams we play: Man, oh man, we play a boatload of physically tough teams! Weeks 12 through 15: @ Dallas, @Pittsburgh, @San Francisco, and Seattle at home is as tough a schedule as there is for any team.

I just can't worry about our W-L record this season. I just want to see across-the-board progress. Another very high draft pick would be a nice consolation for me if we can't hang with these teams in Year One of our team building.

Imagine opening on the road with philly, SF, Dallas, with a week 4 bye followed by Seattle and Baltimore at home. That could have been our first 7 weeks.

I think this schedule gives us a decent shot at a 3-5 or even 4-4 record with a bye to reset what is working and what isn't prior to making a wildcard/division run for the last 8 weeks. Last year the division was a shambles so although I think all the teams made good offseason improvements, I don't think you can properly write one team up and one team down until the product is shown on the field.
And our 2 games that the rest of the division teams don't play -Detroit and Carolina - are certainly winnable games right now.
The giants play the bears/bucs (likely 2 losses)
Cowboys play the vikings/falcons (also winnable)
Eagles play packers/saints (50/50 in my mind)

I can't complain about this schedule at all honestly. Bye in the middle of the season. No short weeks except for Thanksgiving, but Dallas will also have a short week that week.

I hate prime time games just because staying up late and trying to get up for work the next day sucks, so selfishly I'm happy on that one.

But last year we had that brutal 5 game stretch to open the season which just buried all hope and I think resulted in the team giving up on Jay entirely (though he and Manusky did enough on their own to earn that). This time no such problem.

There aren't any brutal stretches of consecutive road games.

I'm not sure what I could complain about. Other than that we still figure to suck.

I guess weeks 12-14 are kind of brutal with consecutive road games, at Dallas on Thanksgiving, then 10 day rest to go away to Pittsburgh, then 7 day rest to go away to San Fran. That's a pretty brutal road stretch I guess. But we're losing to SF no matter how much rest or where the game is played, so in my mind it's all the same.

But then we finish home vs Seattle, home vs Carolina, and away vs Philly which is close to home.

Schedule release is the most overhyped event of the offseason. A 3 hour special last night to put the known opponents in date order? I didn't watch one second of it.

I look at our schedule like a spades hand. 4 for sure wins, 3 possibles, with the potential for an upset

Not a bad schedule at all, but ends tough. We MUST get off to a good start. Would love to be in contention for a playoff spot later in the year. Not expecting it quite yet in Rivera's 1st but would not be totally surprised.

HTTR!

One!? Only one nationally televised game!? And that is Thanksgiving!? That is the biggest kick in the crotch the NFL and networks could give this franchise.

Yep. Unwatchable. I'm surprised ESPN didn't have a live national anthem right before the schedule was released.
