I think by August things should be getting much better.. If not we have bigger worries

I agree, but I think a lot of people will be hesitant to go in large group events even after the pandemic aspect has passed.

I think the league can get creative, how about offering seats at a distance apart? So you lose some $ but not empty stadium money.. I mean Fedex could basically be the norm lol

I just don't see the NFL taking the risk of putting any amount of people in the stands.

I think they delay the start of the season to Oct 1st, and then implement caps on attendance. I doubt they close the stands completely. Preseason in September will likely be played in front of empty stadiums though (not that that is anything new)

I think there will be a season with games played in front of no fans. Players will basically have to be sequestered in hotels and tested regularly.

I think this is right. By August the spread of the disease will have trailed off significantly and the momentum will have built up with calls to reopen the economy. The TV deals are worth so much more than ticket sales are, so the NFL will lean towards playing in front of empty stadiums and broadcasting on TV. And we'll all rejoice that we have SOMETHING.

Yeah I said a few weeks ago that was a scenario, thought it was unlikely but it's becoming more likely every day it seems.

Wonder how youth / school sports handle all of this. Maybe the same way

If they play in an empty stadium will all the players, coaches, and staff have tested negative?

I Think you could have social distancing for school sports with parents watching games 6 feet apart.

Paul Finebaum said he's spoken to a few schools and they will not play in empty stadiums

When deaths fall in late August it will not be because the virus has gone away, it will be because social distancing, by means of keeping everyone in doors, has worked. But if you let everyone go back outside, even wearing face masks, the virus is still out there ready to infect. That is why "reopening" would require an extremely thorough testing system to make sure that exposure to the virus is very, very limited. I do no see how the NFL with all the sweat, blood and other bodily fluids that are exchanged on almost every play can go forward without endangering the players unless every player is tested the morning of every game and only those who test clean can play.
