Skins trade for Kyle Allen

Who says he was going to be cut though? They just resigned him a few weeks ago. Maybe he gets cut in training camp but we can't afford to be in wait and see mode.

Different talent level is the main thing.

If Kyle Allen becomes our new Colt McCoy I don't mind the 5th rounder given up.

It's a good deal for me because Haskins will have a new friend (that doesn't mind being a backup) that can help him learn the system. With the irregular offseason thanks to coronavirus obviously they don't want Haskins' development hampered.

A 5th rd pick for a QB with experience and he knows the system? I don’t see what the commotion is all about.

He fills a significant need. He could be our long term backup.

You're crazy if you think Allen is starting if Haskins has a bad camp.

Call me crazy but again, the new coaches have zero loyalty to Haskins. They don't know him, they didn't draft him. I haven't heard RR say, "DH is our starter."

They just gave up a draft pick for a guy that basically started for RR all of last year. If you think Allen is coming here just to be a back up I'm going to call you crazy.. lol.

The coaching staff have zero loyalty to Haskins, but it'd ridiculous to think that the coaching staff is not going to try to make things work with Haskins.

If RR wanted a starter, he would have gone after the likes of Cam, Dalton, or Winston. Kyle Allen is a solid backup, that can start if something terrible happens, and may be enough to push Haskins. But this is not an indictment on Haskins by RR.

If we brought in Cam Newton there would be a very good reason to question Haskins future here. But Kyle Allen? C'mon.

Why would Rivera commit to Haskins before the draft when there's still a possibility a team could trade up if they think we could be interested in Tua?

In the very short run until Haskins gets up to speed with the offense, assuming we have little to no offseason program? Sure, maybe. That's about as far as I'd go.

No disrespect to Kyle Allen but cream rises to the top I expect DH to be our starter. Please stop with all the drama.

I don't know if it's really a craze. It's probably not as much about how good he looked in the XFL as compared to the fact that he played for Rhule at Temple for four years. He knows what he's getting, and probably feels PJ is as good a fit as anyone at the moment to come in and be a capable backup to TB in his system.
