Redskins release Jordan Reed, per @FieldYates. Move creates $8.5 million in salary cap savings. Washington now has more than $63 million, 6th most in NFL.

I just hope Reed invested properly. He needs to think about his future.

I wish he had worked out because in 2015 he was elite. But since then he has been hurt too much to really contribute. The team needs the $8.5 mill to hire a TE FA.

Amen. He's had a ton of time to think about his future. 7 known concussions with the last one sidelining him for 6 months ... that's freakin scary.
It's a shame. He was a fantastic talent.
Take care of yourself JR.

+1
This was needed by both sides, but I hope everything works out for him on and off the field.

Listening to I believe the Grant & Danny show on the radio while driving those dumb asses were ripping on fans who were saying Jordan Reed should retire. What the hell is wrong with people these days? As someone who has dealt with concussions and the effects, they are no joke. I think someone needs to take a baseball bat to the heads of Grant & Danny and see if their opinion changes about the effects of trauma to the brain.
