She’s going to be an assistant. Not that critical a position. If she doesn’t cut it, she is easily let go. RR is great at motivating his players and also making each player into a man. He is making them into GOOD men, who treat women with respect.

Players from Carolina really were thankful for their personal growth while he was the HC. That made them extremely loyal players. THAT’s how to build a winning culture.

I think it will be shocking to see the difference between the maturity and discipline of this upcoming season and the Gruden era. Gruden ran an easy TC and was more of a buddy to players. It was a total failure. Players liked Gruden because he was like Santa Claus, but I’m not sure they really respected him. Gruden tried to play it tough late in his era, but his teams were undisciplined (lots of penalties) and totally unable to get ready for a big game. They were always flat for the must win games.

If she can grow into this position, great. If not she will be quietly fired. This is a character-building exercise for his players.
They will be better for it.

Her resume for the NFL is minimal at best. A jump from intern to NFL assistant in a huge leap.

Apparently your definition of minimally qualified and Ron’s are different. Probably explains why he’s an NFL head coach and you are on a message board. I think it’s pretty crappy that you make these comments having no real knowledge about this person and yet, clearly since she is a woman, question the hire. How many male interns with the same “minimal NFL resume” have been hired and not been questioned?

Ron obviously places an emphasis on fit and culture. Something we haven’t done here well for awhile. There also used to be a prevailing opinion that African-Americans shouldn’t play baseball and women shouldn’t vote. Fortunately we’ve gotten past that. This is no different.

Exactly, as I said, I think a black woman probably has to be overly qualified to reach the point she's at, because she has had to overcome that kind of questioning every single step of the way...

Wow , we are really in the Football doldrums to be discussing this subject. She’s an assistant. What’s the big deal?

She's not qualified. She's never played in the NFL.

Neither did Joe Gibbs.

I really think this is a big non-issue. She will be fired like everyone else if they don't succeed, so regardless I'm gonna support that mission.

It would be totally different if it was a prominent role...its not, but the criticism would only be valid because of inexperience.
