I'm not saying that we should draft Tua. I just don't see any reason to avoid drafting a promising young QB this year or any year. For example, Jordan Love or Jalen Hurts could become good NFL QB's. It is my understanding that the rosters have been expanded by one more player for next season. There is your opening to carry a third QB. Why not have two young QB's and a veteran backup? Why wait to add and develop a second young QB when your starter could be hurt at any time? Also, if your starter falters, why not have another young QB who has had some development time and is ready to go? Does the name Kirk Cousins sound familiar?
This would be the argument to drafting Tau. I agree with you. Plus two rookie QBs doesn't use up a bunch of $$$ either.

Although it could be used as an argument to draft Tua, I didn't intend it that way. I was thinking the Skins could go ahead and draft Chase Young or trade the pick for a king's ransom. Then, if another QB they like falls in the draft they shouldn't hesitate to draft him.

Drafting Tua means passing on a (supposed) generational talent in Chase Young.
Tua's injury history makes the decision a little easier for me. But let's pretend Tua will never be hurt again .... I still say Chase Young is a better value.
Man, didn't take long for people to fall into the Tua trap huh?

I am playing devils advocate here. I am not 100% in the Tau boat.
Taking your statement above why not draft Tau and let the best man win at the most important position in football. You could "see" both at the same time.
Problem is you really can't have QBs "compete" for the job anymore with such limited (possibly soon to be even more limited) practice time. Splitting reps in practice ends up hurting both guys as you're not giving them enough snaps to really develop. And then a natural divide develops in the locker room depending on who guys get behind and support. And then the constant questioning Rivera and the players would deal with all offseason. I really don't think RR wants to go down that road.

Yup, for below market value because the trade is forced. Thus setting your team back even further.
