MTK 01-28-2020, 06:09 PM I’d want more picks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk sdskinsfan2001 01-28-2020, 06:18 PM Today's NFL comes down to protecting the QB on offense and hitting the QB on defense. Draft Chase, bring back Silverback, sign Austin Hooper. That is my perfect off-season. KI Skins Fan 01-28-2020, 07:58 PM They are taking Joe Burrow. Your overthinking this. Your being brainwashed by to many youtube mock drafts. You have no call to be so insulting to me or anyone else on this friendly board. I said it was just for fun, didn't I? If you don't want to play my silly-ass game, just ignore my post and move on to something else. Your friend, KI AnonEmouse 01-28-2020, 07:59 PM They are taking Joe Burrow. Your overthinking this. Your being brainwashed by to many youtube mock drafts. I think he was just speaking hypothetically. IF they were to not take Burrow with #1 (and I agree they will), then that can only leave 2 scenarios: 1) RR doesn't trust the future to Haskins and pulls a Cardinals move, draft Burrow and ship Haskins. 2) we trade down likely with Miami who'd probably bite our hands off to get Burrow, and that would probably have to be a mega trade. It is highly unlikely, but imagine. It's a potential nightmare scenario if you don't actually want Burrow, but if you don't get a trade offer do you forego the #1/2 player and draft need or take Burrow and make the best of it? Yes, and Cincy and other teams have been known to do some wacky and unexpected things in the draft. Do you remember when Mike Ditka traded the Saints entire draft to the Skins so he could draft a running back? mooby 01-28-2020, 08:15 PM I'm either drafting Chase, or I'm drafting 3 players in the first round. I love the idea of having 3 first round picks, but realistically the pressure would increase 1000-fold to use those picks appropriately. Because missing on 1 or 2 of the picks could be the difference between being a bottom-feeder and being a contender for a long time. And never say never because the Herschel Walker, Ricky Williams, and RG3 trades have shown us anything is possible if a team falls in love with a guy on draft day. Schneed10 01-28-2020, 08:36 PM To trade down I wouldn’t want to go below the 5th pick. To take the trade I would need Miami to tell us who they’re moving up for. If they say Tu’a then I entertain the offer because we’d get Isaiah Simmons or Andrew Thomas, assuming Chase Young goes 3 to Detroit. But I think I’d need a sweetener beyond the 5th, 18th, and 26th honestly. If they throw in a 2nd in 2021 then it’s probably at the point where I can’t refuse it. If Miami won’t tell us who they want at 2, then I don’t continue listening. I’d want to be assured of Chase Young, Isaiah Simmons, or Andrew Thomas. No matter what I make all suitors sweat it out and I don’t take a deal until I’m on the clock. This is honestly the way we need to think about the impact Young could have for us. PFF has never graded a college pass rusher this high. He’s their highest graded yet. The value of that is just so enormous. Khalil Mack goes to the Bears, massive improvement on defense year 1. Von Miller goes to Denver, wins a Super Bowl. Nick Bosa goes to SF, they make the Super Bowl. The pass rusher isn’t solely responsible but we have cap space, we can solve other problems. It takes an epic haul to turn down Chase Young. KI Skins Fan 01-28-2020, 08:45 PM To trade down I wouldn’t want to go below the 5th pick. Schneed10 01-28-2020, 08:53 PM Those are great examples of what a top pass rusher can do for a team. And while the game has changed over the years, there are examples all throughout the game’s history. Lawrence Taylor won two Super Bowls. Reggie White won one (and the Eagles got decidedly worse when he left for GB). Bruce Smith played in 4 straight SBs. Charles Haley with both Dallas and SF. Heck when you look back at the Skins we had QBs change out, but Mann and Manley were constants. Chico23231 01-28-2020, 09:06 PM In the op, I’d wouldn’t take the 26 but would ask for next year first instead just in case Haskins shits the bed this year, I’d have two first rounders in prep for Trevor Lawrence. The 18th and 5th, next year first rounder...I still think that’s close but not good enough to miss out on chase young. |
