BHA you make very good points about how some of the day to day gets executed.
We currently know that Kyle will oversee all scouting, both professional and college scouting. We know he will create the draft board.
We know Rob Rodgers will handle contract negotiations.
We don’t know who will negotiate trades, make waiver wire adds, etc. It could be that Rivera asks for Kyle to present him with a list of possibles and Rivera makes the decision. As to who is actually processing the paperwork, that seems more administrative. Anybody could do it. You could have a low level administrator executing Rivera’s wishes, and that admin could report in to Kyle or Rivera himself.
To me the only major function that hasn’t been assigned yet is the non-football operations boss. I think Rivera and Smith function as the chief decision makers with all authority sitting with Rivera. Who runs the business side still seems up in the air.
It doesn’t even matter until we start winning and filling seats. Whoever it is will just be a fall guy like Lafemina was so that Snyders ego doesn’t get hurt....

Yeah I really could give a flying F who runs the business side. The business side runs itself when the football side operates in a way that gives the fans hope. We don’t even need wins, we just need hope that there will be wins, and then we spend money.
Of course you’re right, nothing brings on hope for wins like actually showing you can win. :laughing-

I agree. I don’t give a crap about “winning OFF the field”. It’s so wonderful having adult supervision and building a winning culture after the years wandering the desert as Cerrato/ Allen make gross mistake after mistake. I believe this team will turn around FAST. All the old, overpaid, hurt FA will be gone. This team will see some real talent arrive in FA at TE, WR and CB and other positions. Then we’ll have a very good draft with Edge phenom Chase Young joining the defense. This will be a changed and YOUNG (no pun intended) team!
Many of the problems of the Redskins related directly to piss poor coaching. Sweat had 7.5 sacks when he was falling back into coverage HALF the time. What’s he going to do opposite Chase with a REAL DC? People will be amazed at how quickly certain parts of our team will immediately IMPROVE. Other parts will take more time but this team will be a lot better next year!

https://www.redskins.com/news/announcements/redskins-announce-coaching-staffI don't see Cooley listed. Thought that was a real thing. Maybe not important enough of a position. Also a lot of nepotism going off last names (I think every staff in the NFL does that though)

Are we all drinking off season kool aid again or does the absence of a Smithers Burns (be it with Allen or Cerrato playing the part) actually give cause for optimism? My fan nutz have been kicked so many times over the last 20 years I am hesitant to get excited. Like there may actually be a curse or something. [emoji2357]

I agree - I could care less who runs it - I just want that person to be identified so that Rivera and Smith can focus on their primary jobs.

I feel you.. We are into only a couple of weeks of offseason for Redskins and I already drank half of the kool aid pitcher. I had to remind myself of exactly same thing you mentioned, except it's been about 15 years for me since I started watching NFL. I think (or hope) it's different this time simply because of how Riveria has been shaping the Redskins FO. Almost everyone from the past are gone now and I don't think Redskins did that before? Also, just because there are a lot of changes, it doesn't necessarily will translate into winning seasons for Redskins. But since I already drank half of the pitcher, I might as well go all the way.

LOL! I am excited about the changes, and for now I'll give Snyder credit for the move and trying a different approach. I think most of us here would agree, our feelings about the team today are completely different than they were just 3 weeks ago...if nothing else, a new hope!

A stunningly obvious but refreshing to hear quote from Jack Del Rio via JP Finlay
Jack Del Rio said watching 2019 Redskins tape he saw a lot of confusion at the line of scrimmage. He said that must change. "We have to know what were doing."
Also said he wants a disruptive defensive line - i think Allen Payne and Ionnaidis are going to enjoy his defensive plans.
