Hi guys it has been a minute since I have posted on here. The RR hire has made me come back to the dark side I guess lol. Everyone knows how passionate DS was about Haskins last year very similar to RG3 in 2012. Do y'all feel RR's approach about Haskins publicly is maybe a smoke screen just in case the Bengals do indeed take Chase Young? If he makes other teams feel like he is not totally on board with Haskins, and he might be able to force a team to trade up. Secondly, do you think DS would allow RR to not name Haskins the starting QB. After using a 1st round pick on him, and with him gaining momentum from a depleted fan base? I feel there is no way DS would've hired a coach that wasn't on board with Haskins that's my personal opinion.
Nah dawg the real plan is to trade Haskins and the 2nd pick on draft day to stock pile 3 1st rounders and build the team that way.
Lol I don't know man we're all speculating and waiting just like you

He’s a kid, and up until the NFL he was probably able to get by on his ability alone. He showed a lot of growth down the stretch, I think that will only continue.

Until they hit the pros many times you don't really know if you have a Ryan Leaf or a Peyton Manning. Especially the guys who are lining up with a lot of future pros on their side in college. Haskins went forward with playing time, that is a good sign.

You can play devil's advocate, I am a KOC fan and since Scott Turner is now our offensive coordinator I am now a Turner fan too.
But the bottom line is this:
Ron Rivera needs a coaching staff that will reinforce everything he teaches. He has to be in cohesion with his assistants because the players need to hear the same message from any coach no matter who it is. If KOC taught Haskins something that Rivera didn't agree with, it could cause setbacks in his development. That's why I'm not opposed to KOC leaving. The coaching staff has to have a unified philosophy.
This.
Even if KOC becomes the next McVay, good for him, but I like our HC being able to do it the way he wants over the potential incredible abilities of the young guy.
Again, let's not forget we tend to over-evaluate the decent to good guys on this team because they were surrounded by incompetent morons. Same goes for Schaeffer. It's like Sheehan said the other day, we've been stuck in a bar with a majority of 2s and 3s girls, so the few that are 5s or 6s stood out as being incredibly hot. But let's not act like we know for sure they're 10s...

Keep in mind I don’t know nothing about nothing when it comes to football at a coaching level, but I am sad Pat Shurmur wasn’t the choice. Spoken highly of as an OC.
And I know RR wants to hire people he trusts, but a little piece of me get more squeamish each time another Panthers coach is brought on. Seems like you would want the best coaches you could get. Not all of the best coaches could have been on the Panthers or else they would’ve had more success.

Kinda interested to see if Scott Turner brings his dad’s offense or if he will have his own style?
From my understanding, Norv liked a power run game and likes to throw the ball downfield. Norv loves the TE and a strong arm QB. Also, Norv as he progressed, liked a RB who could catch the ball.
Scott Turner coming from a nice pedigree and I think Ron really could have had his choice at OC, from koc to a Schumer...he chose Turner, which says a lot. I think Ron probably really like Norv style on offense. Cam was tall with a big arm....Haskins big guy with a cannon.
Should be fun to see how this all comes together

Giants wanted him and thought they had him
Nope , Giants got who they wanted and canceled the interview.

I don't think it's ideal that Haskins slacked off when he got here. But it's not a permanent black mark on him. He clearly has always been one of the most talented guys in the room so he could skate. Is he listening to veterans and making positive changes? Sure seems that way.
I wanted to keep KOC. But a HC needs to pick his staff. That's how it has to be. Welcome Mr. Turner.
It's weird to say, but I'm proud of Snyder. It's only been a short time and we haven't played a game yet, but he has taken steps in the right direction.

I don’t think he struggled to pick up things as much as he wasn’t taking things seriously enough in the beginning. Once he did he took off.

Which is why I 100% agree that RR hasn't committed to him as the week 1 starter yet, and is publicly challenging him. That is what he needs. We'll see how Haskins responds. Tweets are one thing, let's actually see if he puts in the work he keeps tweeting about.
