With the NFC East the way it is, we have a good chance to spring out in front. That said the NFC East opponents next season are brutal.

Cred I like you but you're talking crazy at this stage of the game. I know it's in ticket sales' best interests to get fans excited for next year but we've done this dance too many times to fall for the hype.

My main point was that the whole NFC East is in the garbage, so if the team gets right there is good young talent on both sides of the ball to build from and a division that can be taken.

Every team is going to reload during the offseason, I wouldn't even think about what we can achieve next year before a single roster move has been made.

Alex Smith could be the GM all along , making these decisions with Dan behind closed doors

I'm glad if it's Rivera, but he doesn't need total control, one of the few things that work for us is that we do have a decent front office so he should just coach, and Danny should just get the f-ck out of the way...CAN YOU DO THAT DANNY???

Reports are that he may bring in Steve Wilkes as DC. Am i missing something, other than that they coached together for a couple years. Nothing about Wilkes resume is particularly impressive.

I'd be ok with Wilks coming in as DC if Rivera is hired. He didn't fare well as a HC in Arizona, but the defense was decent - it was the offense that was terrible. His specialty is the secondary, which is what desperately needs to be fixed here. I wouldn't say his resume is impressive, but there's nothing there that really turns me off. I think his relationship with Rivera is a positive, and would allow Rivera to be the HC, and not feel obligated to be over-involved with defense.

I'm most interested about the overall structure of the organization now. I can't wait to hear how all the pieces fall, if in fact Rivera is going to be the new HC.

I’m dreaming of this starting defensive lineup combo (extra player added)

Sweat, Payne, Ionnadis, Allen, Young, Foster, Holcomb, Bostic, Dunbar, Moreland, Collins, draft pick S.

The actual structure is critical. For people saying we have been here repeatedly, I would argue that we have only been here once before, when VC was fired.

Snyder has an opportunity to make a seatide change in this organization and its culture. We won't know whether he does it right until the whole scheme is put together and we see the results, BUT, I think Rivera coming in and setting the guiding focus for the organization is a good first step. It isn't walking on the moon, and it isn't staying stuck in the mud either.

Hope Danny doesn't screw this up.
