Clinton Portis and Carlos Rogers named in this. Rogers i believe has already been arrested as of this morning and the article says Portis is expected to turn himself in at some point today.

It was a federal investigation, if convicted, the maximum sentence is 20 years in prison and over $250K in fines.

Supposedly he is being charged for getting reimbursed for a few thousand dollars in equipment he didn’t need medically. This is so stupid. Presumably Clinton Portis is a millionaire from his time playing in the NFL. Presumably, he makes pretty good money currently.

When you’re doing so well financially, why risk everything to essentially steal chump change?

presuming Portis is well off financially is a reach. Studies show close to 60% of pro athletes are broke a few years after they retire.

DOJ doesn’t go after cases for chump change, it has to be significant

Exactly and it really depends who is the mastermind or heading this shit because it could get really bad if Portis is the guy. I mean it could be serious time if he mastermind a multi million dollar fraud against the government.
