What do you want to see the rest of the Year?MTK 12-11-2019, 09:22 PM Pretty sure nobody said Haskins was a can’t miss Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Burgold 12-11-2019, 11:01 PM Haskins throwing to McLaurin...BOMBS AWAY...why not we sure ain't winning anything. rocnrik 12-11-2019, 11:13 PM Yep ..Pretty sure I read it here ! In fact just went back and read the thread on the draft and other than a very few folks everybody including me thought it was a great pick...some even said we got the BEST QB in the draft and then the so called experts said we had one of the best drafts.. all I’m saying is I’m not buying into any player being the can’t miss pick. Don’t take my word go read all the hype that was being said ..then the same people later on including me are saying he could be a bust.. I hope the kid works out but I’m not convinced now.. skinsfaninok 12-12-2019, 08:50 AM Pretty sure nobody said Haskins was a can’t miss Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk No in fact most of us were wanting Murray but when we all realized AZ was taking him, I wanted Rosen as plan B.. So Haskins was a nice pick considering we had no other options at QB skinsfaninok 12-12-2019, 08:52 AM If this year were a vacuum, yeah. But Kerrigan is 31 and I promise our sack rate won't stay in this high position if we don't replace him with a strong rusher sometime soon. He's got probably two good years left, even giving him the benefit of the doubt on this year's performance. I wouldn't pass up Chase Young under the guise that we're set at pass rusher for the foreseeable future. That sack rate is mainly do to interior pressure to be honest, Matt I. , Payne and Allen have been very good. The edge guys have sucked Schneed10 12-12-2019, 10:45 AM Yep ..Pretty sure I read it here ! Whether anybody said Haskins was a can't miss is irrelevant. The point on QBs is that until you have one, you don't have a chance. So do you think we have one? That's the thinking you have to go through. If you think Haskins might be a bust, and you have a shot at the next QB, the upside is so significant that it has to garner consideration. That all said, your point about trading down is a good one. If you can land a deal that hauls you a bunch of picks, that might be preferable, even to taking Joe Burrow (maybe). It takes two to tango, though. Warthog 12-12-2019, 08:06 PM Although every draft pick is a gamble, most of the best players ARE picked in the first round. The fact that we got McLaurin in the third round is an anomaly. This teams needs a couple real stars. Right now who is a superstar on this team? McLaurin? Who on defense? If you have a chance to draft a superstar - you take it and watch as your new star carries the defense or offense for a decade or more. If you look at the Redskins over the last 20 years, who has been a real star in key positions? Sean Taylor? Who else? We don’t need a bunch of position fillers. We need someone who transforms the team. If you have a chance to draft Chase Young - you take it and run! If you can draft an Aaron Rodgers, or Peyton Manning, etc you take it and you’ll be a contender for the next 15 years. I don’t know if Haskins is the future. It’s IMPOSSIBLE to determine right now. The new HC will have the most important choice of his tenure with this first round draft pick. It’s HARD to fail so badly to get a top 3 or top 5 draft pick. You’ve GOT to make that pick count. If you’re going to draft for QB then that must be for a franchise changer. I think it’s TUA. To my mind this draft pick is either Tua, Young or Thomas. These are the only players who make a difference AND are decade-long players. Obviously, Tua’s injury is a big concern. But until his injury he was EVERYONE’s #1 pick. Do we take him now? Stay tuned.
