Nobody is saying Fuck the constitution or liberty or freedom. There are myriad of democracies across several continents that have looked at the flaws of our system and made it to fit the needs of an evolving society yet we can't for many reasons.

What we are saying is the amendments created in an agrarian society by some erudite honkies do not necessarily fit the needs of our modern society. There were plenty of things they got right but way more they got wrong. Yes some of that was altered in future amendments but we are still paying a societal cost.

I love the idea of being able to amend the constitution but I think we all know that ship has sailed in the current political landscape. It gets highly frustrating when legislation is suggested that fit the needs of a modern society and has overwhelming support it can't pass because politicians will say it violates the constitution. Well no this is what we the American people want. We tell you we want it and the politicians of the United States chose not to. The law of the land should fit our needs not a narrative. Look no further than universal background checks. 80% of Americans want it including 72% of NRA members. Yet it will never pass the senate.

The argument we have it better than most so just be happy with it doesn't hold. We don't even have the best democracy on our continent any more. This doesn't mean I should be forced to leave because I disagree with you. My family has sacrificed a lot for you to be that hateful towards your fellow Americans to tell us to GTFOH, we have tried to make it a better place for more Americans but there is a long way to go. Our politicians need to start listening to the constituents instead of their interests or we will never deviate from the norm.

Oh there are plenty of people that are saying fuck the Constitution (Trump and his most ardent backers included).

That said always go back to the perfect is the enemy of the good.

Our current system and constitution has led us to the point where we are now. Where are we now? We are the most diverse, inclusive, richest, advanced and powerful country in the history of the planet (and yes that is relative to all various civilizations to their positions in history). I'd say our system and constitution which has and continues to evolve has worked quite well.

It's not perfect but it is good (great actually). Don't destroy the good in pursuit of utopia.

“erudite honkies” lol…always with the race..they so mad. Western civilization really amazing…look around and see the failures everywhere else and spend the day making the excuses for them.

That got much more right than wrong to the point it became a model around the world. Communism has failed, Socialism has failed, Fascism has failed. They have come and gone…we still remain.

The data says less than 1/5th of lawful gun owners commit gun crime. Background checks, will this actually stop the people who are committing the majority of the gun crime? When will democrats actually focus on the people committing gun crime? It’s like people don’t even know the facts or want to avoid the truth. Why is that?

My god, all this fucking whining cause an unelected Supreme Court sent the decision back States’ elected officials to decide what the people want for them. Don’t worry, you can still kill babies up to the moment birth in California and New York…thank goodness…forward thinking. It’s crazy the rest of the country won’t get onboard to change the Constitution.

I'm sorry (not sorry), but if you tell me that you are envious of other countries that can just make whatever laws they want, without caring about the principles this great nation was founded upon, then yeah - you are basically saying Fuck the Constitution. Spin that however you want to, but that is basically - exactly - what you are saying.

I served 22 years, with multiple deployments for you to have your hateful attitude, and I have continued to serve Veterans and this country for the last 10+ years. But if you subscribe to the thinking that you don't care about what the Founding Fathers might think - and let's just make whatever laws we want without worrying about that little thing called the Constitution? I'm sure you have heard of the "passion of the times" argument - that the Founding Fathers wrote the Constitution with the intent to prevent future generations from attempting to rule based on the passion of the times? Well, this is our time. There have been "times" before us, and there will be "times" after us. But this is OUR time to do what WE can to preserve the world’s longest surviving written charter of government. It's our time to decide whether we are going to do what we can to limit government or expand it; and our time to appoint Judges who will make decisions that are consistent with the Constitution, instead of creating legislation.

More often than not, I think that even though we have significant opposing views on some subjects, in the end we all mostly want the same thing, for ourselves and for our future generations. I just hope that our collective ignorance and short-sightedness doesn't make it so that our children and grand children can't enjoy the same United States of America that we have. That is really my hope - for all of us.

3)The Constitution is a "living document", it is suppose to change with the times and as the Country changes. Not just to be used when people want more guns.
4) It was was written by Old White Plantation Owners who thought Women and Blacks weren't human when they wrote "we the People" they meant themselves. Almost 250 years ago, think about it.

5) Stop the proud boy BS.

I dont care if the government has a conservative lean to it ... but this christian nationalist push to serve God first then the people second is the cancer of this Country.

Religion should have no place in our government.

2) I never said, and never would say, that my service makes me a better American than anyone else. We were talking about sacrifice and what I stand for. Why do you always put words in people's mouths?

3) I agree the Constitution is a living document, but that doesn't mean we should abandon it's basic principles. The fact is, it has been amended 27 times. It's not easy to do, but it's not supposed to be easy to do.

4) The Founding Fathers weren't perfect. Everybody knows that. They weren't all "old white plantation owners" either. Most of them were in their 30s and 40s when the Constitution was written. And while some of them were slave owners, I don't believe they thought that blacks and women weren't "human". That's your opinion based on zero objective evidence - not fact.

5) I'm proud, and I'm a boy... but I'm no Proud Boy. Why must you always be so insulting and presumptive? Are you incapable of having a debate without being so? It's very unbecoming.
