My takeaway from this whole story is that if a valuable player doesn't want to be here, you trade him to the highest bidder. Fucking Bruce Allen strikes again.
My personal takeaway is that Trent is a big baby. He's blaming the organization for his own lack of taking ownership over his own health care. It was reported that they recommended that he see a specialist and he didn't. Even if that weren't true, the team trainers are not dermatologists or oncologists. They can be expected to properly diagnose some rare form of cancer. And their not doing so is no justifiable reason to breach his contract and demand a trade.
And Trents upset that his co-workers didn't travel 700 miles from DC to Chicago to visit him in the offseason? So what? Who of us works with co-workers that would? Friends and family - sure.
I'm glad Trent spoke today because its cleared up that he is 100% to blame for this fiasco. If there was ever a first round pick on the table for Trent and Allen didn't take it, i'd be pissed at Allen. But anything less than that, and I actually think this is the one time the team got it right. I would not let a whining POS like trent force his way out of town 3 years after I made him the highest paid LT in the game in a front-loaded contract with 2 years remaining on his deal. So I applaud the team for not caving to his demands.

All this is true but because he has now become a malcontent you can't have him back. You have to move him and this what I'm upset about, the Redskins inability to get over it and move on. They were offered fair value by the Browns and passed. That's bad management.
SFREDSKIN 10-31-2019, 09:28 PM From what I read and heard is TW can’t stand BA, fire that a-hole already. The other is he waited 6 years to do something about the lump in his, either he’s pretty dumb or didn’t care enough to do something about it.

It really sounds like the Redskins recommended he go see a specialist this offseason, and he did which is when they determined it was cancerous.
Also it makes sense to the that the Browns would offer a first rounder when they were flying high and thought they had good prospects at the beginning of the season. Now they're 2-5 and looking like garbage and know that first rounder is probably going to be decent so of course they wouldn't want to give it up.
Redskins played themselves. Bruce Allen's gamble was that this was about getting more money, obviously it's not considering Trent gave up 7 million during his holdout and didn't even hesitate when asked if a contract extension would solve things. He wants out. We should've obliged if a team offered a first rounder, that Browns pick would be looking great right now.
rocnrik 11-01-2019, 12:01 AM It’s a mess..I deleted my post because I realize I should not be commenting any more about a cancer issue .. I wish Trent good health and hopefully the team can right this ship ...
SFREDSKIN 11-01-2019, 02:11 AM You guys make your own conclusion:

FrenchSkin 11-01-2019, 09:32 AM The patriots never offered a first. Immediately after that report came out, several sources debunked it as bullshit. Sheehan and Finley have both since reported this and suggested that the offer of a first was likely a false report leaked by the the Skins to drive up a trade market. It didn’t work.
The only teams legitimately interested in Trent were the browns and it’s not been confirmed that they actually offered a second. This also could have been the skins leaking something - again to drive up a trade market.
The truth is, no one was ever going to give up a lot of compensation for a 31 year old, injury prone left tackle, with a history of missing 4 games per year to either injury or suspension. Speaking of which, Trent is also one joint away from being suspended for an entire year. And on top of all of that, this is a player who was just 3 years ago made the highest paid left tackle in the league, received a heavily front -loaded contract, who then tried to force his way out of town with two years remaining on his deal.... and who would almost certainly demand a new contract with his new team or hold out again.
If Trent were on another team, would you want the skins to trade for a player with all THAT baggage?
I sure as hell wouldn’t - and if you check browns fan sites, they are ecstatic this trade never happened.

I wasn't aware of that. I heard Sheehan repeatedly say the Skins never leaked anything through him and rarely do leak things locally.
Anyway, I can agree a 1st might be high. A late 1st doesn't sound crazy to me though.
Fed up with all this story anyway. Just wished the FO handled it better and took any legit offer for a player that obviously wasn't going to play here anymore...
kct1975 11-01-2019, 09:40 AM I can't believe how complicated this shitshow has become. We could have had the Browns first rounder at a minimum and Trent could be gone, and we'd all be happy. Instead we got a great player with a shitty attitude, a shitty executive with a shitty "win at all costs" attitude, and we're probably looking at selling on the cheap this offseason. Thanks a lot asshats. My Thoughts [emoji189] Exactly! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191101/19d29f8aad5ec88bc0bdeee065435ba2.jpg

kct1975 11-01-2019, 10:00 AM Im so freaking happy the Nats won the world series, because this jackass helmet and head situation would be ruling the airwaves and print from dc media.
im sick of all this constant bullshit drama. the management awareness is completely lackingIronically the both all of the local Sports Talk shows on both 106.7 WJFK and 980 WTEM are all saying the same thing as you!
And personally I completely agree with you!
