You got me. Getting old sucks as all the marbles slowly drain out of your brain!

This is his NFL career summed up in one play.

So true, I laughed when I watched but it is sad. He is the latest in a list of undead WRs we have drafted in the first 3 rounds: Doctson, Hankerson, Thomas, Kelly, Jacobs, Russell, Gardner, Westbrook, Winans.......on and on to 1980 when we drafted King Arthur the Monk.
(as a complete aside look at the names in the 1981 draft: Mark May, Russ Grimm, Dexter Manley, Charlie Brown, Clint Didier. Just wow)
A draft and a roster cut-down that make it look as though we have an adult in the room in Ashburn. Meanwhile, TW would rather flush 100 dollar bills down the toilet than play for our clown prez and owner. Is Eric Schaffer quietly taking over as GM? Has the minority ownership group written DS a stern memo about BA and other idiocies? Is DW a better talent evaluator than we give him credit for? Who is the adult?

It was a good cut to the 53 and I’m happy they finally got rid of deadwood like Doctson, Quick and Perrine. As for TW burning $100 this year by not coming in: that’s his decision and the team’s leadership should have believed him and made a good trade to minimize the damage.

The roster cut down is open for debate. We still have 5 qb's on roster including AS on PUP, and Woodford on IR. Why we need Colt at all is beyond me, and that roster space could have gone to another TE (where we have an oft injured TE, an aging vet, and a decent #3), or to keep the Cam Simms even with his one off performance, or Craig Reynolds who sparked a lot.

Can't expect too many good decisions in one day from this FO/HC...
Hope Bee, Reaves, Holtz, Flanagan and Co end up on our PS !

I have thought about this and wonder if Doug Williams is the adult. A facilitator that gets separated or opposing parties to compromise and follow a shared vision.
Eric Schaffer has been there for 16 years (wow) and slowly worked his way up. Maybe he is the one who is adulting.
Most likely I think it is the combination of DW and Shaffer working together with Gruden. Say what you want about Jay but he has been professional and an adult - starting when he benched RG3 for Kirk.
Kyle Smith should be given a lot of credit. The last draft he set the board and
it was clear there is a vision of what defines a Skin: character, production and speed. This could be a combination of Jay and Smith facilitated by DW and Shaffer.

Great move...Smallwood just a better player and we get some offense intel for week 1
