Most running backs expire when they hit 30 unless they wear a Redskin uniform. Without Googling isn't the Diesel the oldest running back to rush for 1,000 yards?

Mcc kinda sucked at picking players

Indeed. Bruce, Jay, and the scouting department have done a much better job without him.

Curiously the Hawks also released Smith so now have only Wilson in the QB room. Can't see that lasting no matter how healthy he stays. Wonder if we can trade McCoy to them 😂

Pats also let Thomas go. Wonder if hes worth bringing in for a look? Unless he's not fully recovered from his AH, and he did play this week, I'd at least take a look.

Pulled this from Seahawks ESPN page:

Brady Henderson
ESPN
The Seahawks released Geno Smith while setting their initial 53-man roster, which leaves Russell Wilson as their only quarterback for now. This could be some roster maneuvering related to the Jadeveon Clowney trade, with Seattle needing a roster spot until it becomes official. They're giving up two players for one in that trade, but because it's not yet official, Barkevious Mingo and Jacob Martin are still on Seattle's roster and Clowney is not. Thus, the Seahawks will have an opening for Smith -- or perhaps another quarterback -- once the trade goes through. Smith is a vested veteran and thus isn't subject to being claimed off waivers. He seemed to win the backup job once Seattle waived Paxton Lynch. Said Pete Carroll of Smith Thursday night: "He looks in control of the offense. He gets it. He really understands it. So that's a real positive."

Also it appears the Patriots are doing the same thing with Demaryius Thomas. Cutting him is a temp move, they're going to bring him back.

According to MMQB's Albert Breer, the Eagles offered Jordan Howard and a swap of mid-round picks to the Chargers in exchange for holdout Melvin Gordon.

The Chargers also would've ate money in the Eagles' proposal, which the Chargers obviously turned down. Per Breer, "there just hasn't been much action" on the Gordon trade front. Word on the street is the Chargers are looking for first- and fifth-round picks in a Gordon deal. That's just not going to happen right now, especially when the acquiring team then has to sign Gordon to a big-money extension. Perhaps when injuries start to surface, Gordon will pick up more traction. But for now, he's stuck spinning his tires in a holdout with no end in sight.

Glad this didn't happen. Eff the eagles
