I’m watching the Redskins this season not because they are going to win 10 games. But for the first time in many years they have a talented youth movement at QB, WR and DL. I want to see how these guys mature and progress.
After a mediocre 2919 season the Redskins will use their draft picks to rebuild their OL. That’s the final piece of the puzzle. We will have a new Head Coach and a young team with some really outstanding players. The team will be ready to move to the next level.

Never quite understood all the hand wringing over Penn, he’s been a solid pro. We lose a lot with him athletically compared to Trent but he’s still solid. Can Flowers be at least as good as Lauvao? I hope so.

Penn can be decent just age/injury risk is always there. Im not convinced Flowers can be as good as Lauvao...that's an issue. I actually think the rookie Guard should be getting the work.

Unless Flowers is a disaster, I say give him until the Bye to develop LG skills, especially if Trent comes back. He actually has higher upside of the two, but his bad habits are deeply ingrained.
I personally preferred cutting him to save cash and put in the rookie....but since they are going with the big gamble....give it a fair shake...the guy has got the right shape. If he ever developed discipline, consistency, effort and technique, he could be a really good LG. The problem is he screws up once per quarter, and it is always big, like a sack, penalty to remove a TD, cause turnover, etc. He is the equivalent of a QB that throws picks or a RB that fumbles

Is that all he needs? Lol. So could any 300 lb man who ever lived. The guy is a complete bust. Im a Miami fan so I have every reason in the world to root for him but he is bad. Waste of a roster spot. Ill be super happy to eat crow on this one but.....

I think he will make enough big mistakes to bring in Martin. The team can only take so many bad sacks and holding penalties before they bring in the new kid.

In the first game Penn and Flowers did ok. Moses showed why he gets so many offense-killing penalties. I don’t think TW will come back so I hope he is traded for a top draft pick. We will need to spend some draft picks to get the OL to an elite level. Right now they are just treading water and hoping for no injuries.

Moses looked terrible, again. The repair of the OL will take three steps:
1. dumping high cost FA like Norman, TW etc - which allows us hiring new OL FA.
2. Resign Scherff. Probably not happening.
3. If the team is smart they can trade and gain extra draft picks for OL.
Let’s see if BA is up to the challenge..

There is a very realistic chance we win one game (against Miami).

I was thinking this was a 7-9 or 6-10 team. Now I don’t even think we can win more than 2-3 games. Maybe just Miami, because they are trying to lose every game. It isn’t long before the players start to give up and play to the level where they don’t look like they are tanking but not so intense that they could get hurt.
2-14.

When I look at the roster, I don't see a bunch of players that are likely to mail it in. If that were the case, the MNF game would have been 45-3 instead of 31-15. They'll continue to compete. If they can become more consistent, they'll probably win 8-9 games. If not, it's more like 5-6.
