Keenum - Week 1 Starter

It's not a schedule thing for me. Right now Case is the better and more experienced QB. There's no value in sending out the less experienced guy, unless he totally separated himself from the competition, which he clearly did not. That's no way to get the rest of the team to buy into what you're doing either. Haskins will get his chance eventually...These are my thoughts exactly. I do not want to screw with Haskins' growth and confidence and throw him to the wolves right away. Keenum is the safer bet and has done things before in this league whether people wanna recognize it or not. Haskins has work to do- footwork, accuracy, etc. His Big X days are over.

There wasn't a competition. I can't wait for Gruden to get his ass out of here.

Do you think Gruden's contract situation will impact how much Haskins plays? It seems like if JG and DH can show a glimmer of hope for the future than ownership might give JG an extension. If not than DH will be starting over again with a new coach and a new system. At some point this year the team has to see if JG and DH are a good match.

FWIW Case has been the 3rd highest graded passer through pre-season. Now mostly that is due to him not playing very much but still worthy of being mentioned.

If you start Keenum and Keenum fails, you can go to Haskins in a situation where he can take his time and learn. On the other hand if you start with Haskins and he fails and you go to Keenum, you wonder if you just f’d his confidence. It’s an obvious choice.

When Keenum starts out 1 TD and 4 or 5 Ints, people will want Haskins in. So onward to Philly

Run the offense through Guice and AP and change some schematic things plays to Case’s strength....he can perform as well as Alex last year.

I don’t know why, but I feel much better about the WR position going into this year than last.
